as shown in this video. After getting into the bios search for fan control settings, I have to enter into the Power tab of the bios settings on this motherboard to get into the CPU Fan speed. On this motherboard CPU fan speed is N/A by default & I have to change it to Ignored to make the message of CPU fan error disappear on startup. In some motherboard the rpm of CPU fan warning is highlighted by default at 600 rpm & if you lower the rpm to 300 rpm the CPU fan error will disappear. But do remember to save the bios setting before exit by pressing F10 as shown in this video to remove the CPU fan error warning message. CPU fan was still plugged in and working fine. Does any one have any idea why this would be happening? 1 answer Last reply Mar 27, 2014 Best Answer Mar 27, 2014 More https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIDrJ0uZq2U about cpu fan error message cpu fan running Best answer mc962Mar 27, 2014, 2:14 PM It might be the error that some get when the fan doesnt spin up fast enough. I've heard of it happening a fair number of times with ASUS motherboards. If this was the case then your motherboard was getting angry that the fan didn't reach a certain preset rpm value when starting http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2083351/cpu-fan-error-message-cpu-fan-running.html up, so it thinks the fan is having issues (which, if it was, would mean it wasnt cooling your cpu properly, which would be why the alert is there). Generally it's preset around 600 rpm, but sometimes it might start up between 400-500 rpm and set off the alert. You can go into the BIOS settings and change the minimum value for the alert message to something lower. Maybe monitor temperatures in BIOS for a few minutes to make sure everything is going properly. Basically, it could potentially be an incorrect message. If it lets you get into BIOS and you see the fan holding steady at or rising to a certain temperature then it is probably fine Ask a new question Read More Power Supplies CPUs Error Message Related Resources I'm running a water pump and I'm stuck with a cpu fan error message CPU Fan Speed Error message on boot? solved CPU Fan Error Message at Start Up solved Error Message CPU fan has Failed CPU Fan Error on Boot. Personal QuestionWhen I boot up my PC this error "CPU fan has failed" is shown. What could be the possible problem?UpdateCancelAnswer Wiki7 Answers Leonid S. Knyshov, I run a data recovery companyWritten 82w agoWhen the CPU fan fails to report rotational speed above the threshold of failure to the motherboard, the motherboard will alert you by saying that the CPU fan has failedOn a desktop, the CPU fan connects to your motherboard with a 4-pin (older technology and some aftermarket fans use 3 pins) power connector. There are temperature sensors on the motherboard. There are also usually multiple 3-pin (they are sometimes 4-pin) headers (groups of multiple pins with a plastic "key" to ensure correct orientation of the connector) into which the fans get plugged in. Laptops have a similar arrangement, but they may use non-standard connectors. On this example board, the CPU fan is connected into the 4-pin header and there is another 3-pin header next to it.While operating properly, the CPU fan reports back to the motherboard its current rotational speed. The motherboard regulates the speed of that fan according to the temperature reported by the CPU temperature sensor. If that speed is too low or missing, the motherboard will say the fan has failed. You can simulate this failure by unplugging the fan from CPU header and connecting it to any other fan header, like Case Fan. It will still spin, but your motherboard will complain because it will think there is no CPU fan attached.Others explained how to solve the problem. Do not run a computer without a CPU fan even for a second. Use a thermal compound to improve heat transfer efficiency. The cooler your CPU operates, the happier your computer feels.4k Views · View Upvotes · Answer requested by Andrew GutschRelated QuestionsMore Answers BelowWhat is the best way to check if my laptop is failing due to the CPU/GPU or a fan problem? What can I do if my CPU's fan
