In order to make this message disappear from a PC on startup you have to get into the bios settings of your computer. To get into the bios settings you have to press Del, F1 or F2 (varies according the different motherboard) while starting cpu fan error asus motherboard your computer as shown in this video. After getting into the bios search for fan control settings, I have to enter into the Power tab of the bios settings on this motherboard to get into the CPU Fan speed. On this motherboard CPU fan speed is N/A by default & I have to change it to Ignored to make the message of CPU fan error disappear on startup. In some motherboard the rpm of CPU fan warning is highlighted by default at 600 rpm & if you lower the rpm to 300 rpm the CPU fan error will disappear. But do remember to save the bios setting before exit by pressing F10 as shown in this video to remove the CPU fan error warning message. Cpu Fan Error Asus On Boot
by PhilJackson, Jan 27, 2009. PhilJackson Junior Member Joined: Jan 10, 2009 Messages: 7 Likes Received: 0 cpu fan error asus z97 Well, my newly built system was running fine for the past week but as I turned it on today, I got a message saying "CPU Fan
Cpu Fan Error Asus X99
Error! Press F1 to Resume." So I restarted the computer to see if that would fix it and it did. The error was gone. I ran Speedfan and something weird happened. Aux0 and Aux1 have no speed. I opened up the computer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIDrJ0uZq2U and all three Chassis fans and the CPU fan were running fine. Here's a picture of SF: http://i41.tinypic.com/166x8jn.jpg Any clue why the error first occurred and why there is no RPM for the fans? By the way, there are three case fans and one stock Intel CPU fan. I know that at least 1 (can't remember if it was both) of the Aux fans had a speed reading before this. Thank you. #1 PhilJackson, Jan 27, 2009 chizow Diamond Member Joined: Jun 26, 2001 Messages: https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/cpu-fan-error-asus-p5q-pro.260962/ 9,537 Likes Received: 0 You get the CPU Fan Error if you don't have a fan plugged into the 4-pin PWM fan plug (a 3 pin fan works fine, you just dont' get PWM control) located to the right of the CPU if looking at it from the top. There's a lot of fan plugs on this board, which is great imo, just check your manual to make sure you're using the one specified for the CPU fan. #2 chizow, Jan 27, 2009 PhilJackson Junior Member Joined: Jan 10, 2009 Messages: 7 Likes Received: 0 I looked right now and made sure that the one it was being connected to was the CPU Fan plug. I restarted the computer a few times and the error did not come up but after a few tries, it did come up again. Any tips? #3 PhilJackson, Jan 27, 2009 RallyMaster Diamond Member Joined: Dec 28, 2004 Messages: 5,583 Likes Received: 0 What Q-Fan settings do you have it at in the BIOS? Anything lower than turbo for me would yield a CPU Fan Error. #4 RallyMaster, Feb 1, 2009 (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Loading... I just switched over to a P5Q pro last night and it always freezes on boot up with a CPU fan error. I water cool so there is no fan. How the hell do I get rid of that it's driving me nuts! I can't find anywhere in the BIOS to disable it. I did find a spot where I selected "Ignore" for the CPU fan but that didn't fix it. __________________ i7 4790K @ 4.8GHz w/EK Supremacy Evo MSI z97 Gaming 5 2x 8GB Gskill Sniper 2133 @ 2400MHz EVGA GTX 280 (SC?)
