I believe that the default is 600. PSU also have various +5VSB wattages - 3-4-5 AMP = 15W 20W 25WJust curious, what PSU are we talking about here?IIRC there is a special standoff for 2011 sockets?http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=41&lng=enhttp://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=compatibility_gen&products_id=41&lng=en Edit Reply Quote & Reply thomas VIP Member Posts : 16 Level : Tech Points : 6 From: United States Posted:12/15/2012 5:05:00 PM # 6 I ran into the same problem, enter bios go to advanced mode then monitor. Scroll down to cpu- fan control, default is 600 rpm click on it and scroll set toignore. Once you do that it will get you by the setup screen and boot normally. tom Edit Reply Quote & Reply Asus P9X79-Pro Intel 3930k Corsair Dominator GT 32GB 1866C9 OCZ Verte

The fan just needs a good current and a connected path to travel down for it cpu fan to spin. What you may not be able to do is have your CPU/Motherboard automatically manage fan RPM based on system load. Is the fan old or new? Are there other matching fans that do not have this issue in your build? If so, then I would suspect that something in the circuitry of the "N/A" fan has gone awry.
