I got it assembled, coz I haven't built a rig from scratch myself. I can add one or two components here and there. Spec: CPU: i7 2600 (non-k) Mobo: Asus P8H67-M Case: Coolermaster http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/333502-CPU-Fan-Error-HELP Scout CPU Cooler: DeepCool Tiger Shark Deepcool Tiger Shark, Nickle plated copper base + nickel plated aluminum fins with 4 heatpipes , hydro bearing 120mm PWM fan , 500-1500rpm , 66.3CFM , 17.8~27.6dB - for intel LGA775/1156/1366 , AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2 PSU: Corsair TX 650 RAM: Mushkin Silverline DDR3 2X4GB DVD-Writer: LG HDD: Samsung 1TB Everytime I boot my rig, it has this error "CPU Fan Error. Press F1 for SETUP" So when I do press F1 to get to the BIOS, the Fan Speed has a red bar and it is below 600rpm. I suspect it is because the cooler has min of 500 rpm. CHeck that bolded min rpm for the Deepcool Tiger Shark cooler. After a few second the rpm increase above 600 and the bar becomes green, indicating it is all good? Anyway, so I exit the BIOS and everything works fine. I installed Speedfan and the CPU temperature is always above 90°C. I suspect it has to do with that cooler not working properly. See attached pic of SpeedFan readings here. All the three fans (back, front, and top) that come with the Scout are working fine.

Okay, I've gone and built myself a semi-new computer (new mobo, processor, case, ram). I've reused components from the old PC -- HD, CD burner, video card, sound card, Firewire card. I've finally started up the new PC, and in BIOS, I'm getting a "CPU fan error!" I've checked, the fan is running, I've unplugged it, plugged it back in, it's spinning away. I can't get past this. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! I assume that you have the CPU fan connected to the mobo's CPU_Fan header? That's where the fan RPM is monitored, and power is provided. Sometimes there's an RPM threshold that the fan must meet or a fan error will be declared by the BIO
