Posted by RoHe on 9 Mar 2012 20:20 Dell fans have a sensor in them that's detected by BIOS. If that sensor fails, you'll get a 'fan failure' error. First try clearing the error message: Power off and unplug Press/hold power button on tower for ~15 sec Open the case and remove motherboard battery Press/hold power button again for ~30 sec Reinstall the battery, right-side-up! Close the case and reboot If that doesn't clear the error, you'll probably have to replace the fan with another Dell fan that's specific for this system and can be bought directly from Dell or from a number of the 3rd-party supp

I couldn't connect it to the Motherboard because it as a prioritary's 5 pins coonector and the Noctua is a normal 3 pins So I connected it to a molex of the psu. The problem is that every time I boot the pc I heard 2 beep and the message "CPU FAN ERROR PRESS F1.."
