You can try to set "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" to 200 RPM in BIOS configuration. * "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" appears only when you set the CPU Q-Fan Control to [DC Mode], [PWM Mode], and [Auto]. Cpu Fan Error Press F1 To Run Setup
Motherboards Share Cliffman 9 July 2013 21:49:09 Hey there folks! I just finished asus cpu fan error press f1 my very first build and at boot I got a cpu fan error. I've got a Noctua NH-U14S for CPU cooling cpu fan error water cooling and it's plugged into the main CPU fan connection. The motherboard acknowledges the existence of the CPU fan but it seems to think it's running too low (it's at 568 RPM with a CPU https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1006064 temperature of 32C showing BIOS). It seems the lowest RPM without warning is 600RPM. I'm a total noob so I'm really just clueless about if this is an actual issue or not. Is 32C for a CPU that's just showing BIOS normal? Should my CPU fan be working harder right now and keeping the CPU cooler? If this isn't an issue, I'm guessing it's all right to lower http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1728332/cpu-fan-error-boot.html the threshold for cpu fan warning to something closer to 400-500RPM, right? If this isn't normal and it's an actual problem, what can I do about it? I mean, the fan is recognized by the system and it seems to run, just a bit slower than the motherboard expects it to. Then again, I can't run any tests on it (playing games or stuff like that) at the moment since I'm waiting for my OS to be delivered. My build is the following: ASUS Z87-PRO Intel i7-4770k Kingston DDR3 HyperX Predator 8GB Noctua NH-U14S CPU Cooler EVGA GeForce GTX770 Corsair AX860 PSU Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me. As soon as you boot up, grab a temp monitoring program (CoreTemp, RealTemp, etc..) and watch it there. If things stay pretty cool (within 5c or so of your BIOS reading), you should be good to go. I have my new http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f15/cpu-fan-error-430068.html computer since yesterday, but Im having some problems, when I turn on my computer I get the error "CPU Fan error, press F1, to continue". After some googling, I have found out that probably the bord or cpu have the default cooler the "stock cooler" and I have the NOCTUA NH-U12S U-TYPE. My board: ASUS MAXIMUS VI EXTREME C2 My cpu fan CPU: INTEL CORE i7 4770K (3.5GHZ) SKT 1150 I know that this is happening because the RPM is around 400 when needs to be above 600. There is some ways to fix this issue like: - change in BIOS to ignore this - change in BIOS to modify 600 to 300 My question, do you suggest making this change in BIOS? Will the low RPM not affect the performance of my computer? I was thinking in cpu fan error remove the NOCTUA NH-U12S U-TYPE and add the original cooler that come with my CPU... is this a better solution and will fix my RPM and will have a better temperature with the original? Here are some photos of temperatures and case: What do you think about this temperatures? About the last photo, the cooler fan is too close to the case fan. Is this an problem? The other side I have the RAM sticks... If you cooler actually fails you will at least know it happened. Logic tells me lowering rpm limit wont change anything with cpu performance, its rather an infromation then an active process. On the other hand nowadays CPU's have build in thermal limiters so even if it will be overheating in any case, it will limit its speed as a protection or shut down in extremal situation. Your temps shown in bios has almost none information value since the CPU is working on IDLE state, go for some real test and monitor temperatures. I cant see any reason why would you want to swap back to original cooler, except the fact that at this moment its mak
