5:09 AM Hello guys,Maybe someone can help me....I have my new computer cpu fan error water cooling since yesterday, but Im having some problems, when I turn on my computer I get the error "CPU Fan error, cpu fan speed error detected asus press F1, to continue".After some googling, I have found out that probably the bord or cpu have the default cooler the "stock cooler" and I have the NOCTUA NH-U12S U-TYPE.My board:ASUS MAXIMUS http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/cpu-fan-error VI EXTREME C2My CPU:INTEL CORE i7 4770K (3.5GHZ) SKT 1150I know that this is happening because the RPM is around 400 when needs to be above 600.There is some ways to fix this issue like:- change in BIOS to ignore this- change in BIOS to modify 600 to 300My question, do you suggest making this change in BIOS? Will the low RPM not affect the http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1983884/cpu-fan-error-press-continue.html performance of my computer?I was thinking in remove the NOCTUA NH-U12S U-TYPE and add the original cooler that come with my CPU... is this a better solution and will fix my RPM and will have a better temperature with the original? Here are some photos of temperatures and case:What do you think about this temperatures?About the last photo, the cooler fan is too close to the case fan. If you cooler actually fails you will at least know it happened. Logic tells me lowering rpm limit wont change anything with cpu performance, its rather an infromation then an active process. On the other hand nowadays CPU's have build in thermal limiters so even if it will be overheating in any case, it will limit its speed as a protection or shut down in extremal situation.Your temps shown in bios has almost none information value since the

The fan is running at 530RPM which is below the allowed threshold. I've tried all the modes, silent, normal and turbo. The fan is an Akasa Apache Super Silent 120mm 4-pin PWM fan. I bought it specifically as it's a PWM fan. The motherboard is an Asus P6T SE. Has anyone else had the same problem? Thanks for any advice. By the way what did they paint that fan with? It stinks! molar View Public Profile Find More Posts by molar 18th Oct 2009, 21:57 #2 setter Don Joined: Dec 2005 Location: armoy, n. ireland Posts: 28,153 Ive had this with my previous p5q deluxe and my current p6t deluxe, im using 400-1200 rpm pwm fans on a TRUE, you can disable the cpu fan warning in bios, this will save having to hit F1 to continue booting, once in windows the fan will spin up according to your chosen profile. setter View Public Profile Find More Posts by setter 18th Oct 2009, 22:11 #3 molar Hitman Joined: Oct 2002 Location: Sheffield Posts: 539 Quote: Originally Posted by setter Ive had this with my previous p5q deluxe and my current p6t deluxe, im using 400-1200 rpm pwm fans on a TRUE, you can disable the cpu fan warning in bios, this will save having to hit F1 to continue booting, once in windows the fan will spin up according to your chosen profile. Thanks for the reply setter. I've seen the option to ingore the speed in the bios so I will try that. Once I get an OS put on I can monitor the speeds there. Just waiting for Windows 7 delivery at the moment. molar View Public Profile Find More Posts by molar 18th Oct 2009, 22:21 #4 Makhaira Mobster Joined: Nov 2007 Location: Lancashire, UK Posts: 4,498 Just a word of the obvious but crucial - if you're disabling fan warnings, make sure you've set your BIOS temperature warnings to sensible values, to save any head-in-hands moments.
