I don't know what being hijacked is. error 1324 When I googled the above error, someone else's post on this site showed up, so this seemed like a good place to look for help.1. I reformatted my laptop a few weeks ago and started from scratch. I did not, unfortunately, get around to downloading my anti-spyware program (nod32).2. Last week a long (about 1 1/2 minutes) hesitation began during boot up; the error 1324 the screen just goes silver and hangs out there for awhile, then continues with booting up.3. Monday I tried to open a program on my external hardrive (LaCie 2.0) [yes, i have since learned that the external hard drive is not the place for programs], and a variation on the above error showed up: Error 1324. The path Program Files or the volume is invalid. Please enter it again.I messed around with this all day, including googling different suggestions (not many out there) and finallyl decided to reformat the external drive. I imagined the problem was in accessing the Program Files on the external drive and that this would take care of the problem.4. I then tried to install a program that had been on the external drive onto the C drive and got the above error. I have no idea what to do next, so I'm asking if you have any ideas.5. I have done your FAQs: Ad-Aware, Spybot, AVG, and Hijack This. The logs for Spybot and Hijack This are below. I hope you can help or at least direct me to help; at

It not only checks for malware, but also checks your registry for errors. http://safety.live.com/Let us know what it finds. If all seems well, then a repair install may be called for - but until we know the results it's hard to say if any fix will work The SFC.EXE file is one of the protected system files and it can't just "not work" on it's own. It takes some effort to overcome this protection, so I'd suspect that something has caused it to stop working.
