Discussion This error can occur for the following reasons: On Windows 95, 98, or ME, your user profile contains an invalid character, such as a slash "/".Your CD-ROM drive uses a real mode (16-bit) driver.Solution User Profile Contains an Invalid Character On Windows 95, 98, or ME, your user profile may contain an invalid character. Determine if your user profile contains an invalid character by navigating to C:\Windows\Profiles\Your Profile, where Your Profile is the name of your user profile, such as James Jones.
