Confirm that at least 2.5 GB of disk space is available for installing QuickBooks (Quickbooks 2010 requires 1.5GB of disk space): On your keyboard, press Windows + E to open the Computer window. Note the amount of free space shown in the window next to the drive letter where QuickBooks is being installed: If error 1324. the path my documents or the volume is invalid. the amount of free space is less than 1 GB, free up disk space before installing QuickBooks or install QuickBooks on a different drive. If the amount of free space is greater than 1 GB, proceed with step 2. Remove invalid characters from the QuickBooks installation path: On your keyboard, press Windows + E to open the Computer window. Navigate to the path shown in the error: If there are non-alphanumeric characters in the name of any folder in the installation path, right-click the folder and select Rename to remove them, and then reinstall QuickBooks. If there are only alphanumeric characters in the installation path, proceed with step 3. Create a new user in Windows to rewrite any Windows registry settings that may be causing the error and log in as that user to install QuickBooks. This is usually caused by an invalid character in the User Profile. Fix 1 - Install Under error 1324 the path program files (x86) Different Profile See if you can install the software using a different user account. Hold error 1324 autocad the Windows Key and press "R" to bring up the Run dialog. Type "logoff", then press "Enter". Try to login with a new error 1324 adobe user (if available). If you don't have another account, you can try to create a new one. Attempt to install the software again. I http://www.infragistics.com/community/forums/t/82813.aspx can't uninstall, repair or modify my installation of NetAdvantage. I was trying to modify my existing 11.2 version because a team-mate realized we had different DLL versions based on the same http://reidablog.blogspot.com/2007/06/fixing-error-1324the-path-xxx-contains.html install. I can do anything. I even tried installing the latest version of the tools but I get the same message. If I try to uninstall via the Windows control error 1324 panel I get the same message. I am in a corporate environment and my "My Documents" folder is mapped to a network drive. Any advice? I did not have read permissions to the folder just below "My Documents". I think the networking team here had made some sort of a change recently. Once these permissions were changed it started working correctly.Thanks for your help! character. When installing software I have now seen a number of times the following error "Error 1324.The path My Documents contains an invalid character.". My Documents could be replaced by a number of other special folders, and I have seen this issue on Windows XP and Windows Vista.The problem seems to stem from having UNC paths for folders (i.e. \\server\share\user\my documents). So, to fix the issue you need to temporarily change the path to a local path and change it back after installation. These steps will help (based on Vista, but XP is similar):Click StartRight-click Documents (or Pictures etc.)Choose PropertiesMake a note of the path currently usedChange path to the Default by clicking Restore Default buttonClick OKIf prompted about creating folder say YesWhen prompted about moving all your files say no (you are going to move the folder back shortly) and then wait a bit - this might take some time.Install your applicationRepeat above instructions to move the folder back again, but this time do move the files. This will merge changes to the folder back to your actual folder.
