imaging a brand new machine (HP EliteBook 8560p) with the Tuxera NTFS Driver, I immediately receive the following error message: "Encountered a bad control data during image restoration", and the last file displayed on the screen is "$Extend\$RmMetadata". If I image the same machine with an image created using the legacyntfs driver, it works fine. Furthermore, if I image the new machine with the Tuxera driver AFTER having been imaged with the legacy driver, it works fine. I have now https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7012573 narrowed it down to the Image Safe Data. If I run 'zisedit -c' to clear the ISD before I bring down the new Tuxera image down to the workstation, it works fine. So, it seems that either these machines are a problem becuase they (a) have no image safe data, or (b) have some data in the ISD area that the http://www.theusenetarchive.com/usenet-message-encountered-a-bad-control-data-tuxera-only-new-48147010.htm Tuxera driver does not understand. Apparently the legacy driver can handle this issue, while the new Tuxera driver cannot. Has anyone else seen this issue? Is this a bug with just this specific model? I wonder if this will happen if you buy a brand new blank hard drive and put it in a desktop? It would be very nice if the error messages could be improved so that they would give some indication of what the actual problem is. -- -Nick Kelnhofer Professional Network Administrator CNA, MCSA, A+, Net+, Security+ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CycoTron's Profile: http://forums.novell.com/member.php?userid=3926 View this thread: http://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=458093 2012-07-25 16:25CycoTron, It appears that in the past few days you have not received a response to your posting. to get imaging working correctly again, however, I seem to have a problem with the new Tuxera High Performance http://www.theusenetarchive.com/usenet-message-tuxera-driver-will-not-upload-45630499.htm NTFS driver. I download it and tell it to upload to the server (I hit Apply at bottom of page). It never says it does so successfully and as you https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH109006.html can see in the attached picture, the servers show replication status unknown. When I looked on the server Denethor directly, however, I saw it did have the 11.2.4 folder in error encountered the TFTP folder, so somehow it uploaded it there. That server is not the one from which we image. So, I manually copied that 11.2.4 folder to the Zen11 server and manually set the permissions, figuring that likely wouldn't work. Now when I try to image off of the Zen11 server, I get the message: "Encountered a bad control data error encountered a during image restoration. Check if Tuxera driver is present." I guess it didn't work. How can I check/fix it? Needed to put the new .conf on there also. :) It's working. Did you mean to attach something? My upload did occur, at least onto the one server, so it sort of worked. How does it determine which server to upload the driver to? And, it would be nice if it told us that it uploaded successfully and to what server. What should the "replication status" show? Why would it say "not available"? -- laurenschuman ------------------------------------------------------------------------ laurenschuman's Profile: https://forums.novell.com/member.php?userid=20896 View this thread: https://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=474504 2014-02-04 16:38Lauren
