Error message Posted on 2005-02-22 Exchange 2 Verified Solutions 12 Comments 8,185 Views Last Modified: 2012-08-14 Hi, We have a Exchange 2003 server. We are trying to use ExMerge v6.5.7408.1. I https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/867503 always get this error message: Error encountered getting mailbox information from the private information store database(s) on server 'SERVERNAME'. Make sure you have adequate permissions on the Information Store object. Please refer to the 'C:\Program Files\ExMerge\ExMerge.log' log file for more information. I applied the following KB articles and still the same error: KB292509 and KB867503. Any other ideas? If the account is a part of Administrators, Domain Admins, Enterprise Admins, Exchange Domain Servers, they would have Explicit Deny Permissions. And Deny permissions always overrides Allow. So the best possible way you can make sure that you have the permissions straight is: 1. Create a new user account in AD. 2. On the Exchange System Manager, on the properties of the server, add the account in the security tab and provide Send As and Receive As permissions for that acocunt. Make sure that there are no Explicit Deny permissions. 3. Make sure that the security settings have propagated to the Storage Group level and also the Store level. If they have not, they add the account at these levels and provide the Send As and Receive As permissions. 4. Also make sure that you are logged in using the account while running ExMerge. Hope this helps in

Join Now Hi, I am on the verge error encountered of breakdown with this! I've tried and tried and I cannot get ExMerge to work. I am trying to remove mailboxes from the store that are no longer required. Whilst they can be deleted, I would rather have a backup of them for future use. Each ttime I try, with whatever account I use, I get error encountered getting the exact same error Error opening message store (MSEMS). Verify that the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is running and that you have the correct permissions to log on. (0x8004011d) At first I tried using the administrator account but that didn't work (I'm assuming the deny permissions on Send/Receive As prevents this), I then tried to use a service account which has been created using the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292509
And still I get this error message. Does anyone have any suggestions as I'm stumped and losing what little patience I have left today! By default domain admins and exchange admins have deny on Send as and Receive as permissions. Tags:Custom / CUSTOMServerbug superjnf November 15, 2009 at 12:45:04 Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 2.802 GHz / 3007 MB I am trying to use ExMerge and it detected all users, but I couldn't import the users pst files, but that was okay, at least I could SEE the users. I tried going back and testing it out again WITHOUT changing anything on Exchange Server and it gives me this REALLY ANNYOING MESSAGE:'Error encountered getting mailbox information from the private information store database(s) on server (ServerName). Make sure you have adequate permissions on the Information Store object. Please refer to the 'Log Location' log file for more information.'Now I am thinking, 'WTH' becuase I didn't CHANGE anything on the exchange server.I am getting real frustrated with this. Why is it giving me this stupid error message? Oh by the way, I am using Exchange Server 2007 and I am using a Windows XP Machine to import the Emails into the Exchange Server.I KNOW 2007 and XP isn't the problem becuase it WORKED the 1st time and the 2nd time, it gives me that permission message.I looked online for the problem and it just tells me to create another user and I don't want to do that, but I did and it didn't work. THEN, I read that its an MAPI issue and went into Exchange System Mangement on the XP system to see it was denying permissions. But, the problem is that I can't change any of them because I am not using exchange server 8.0.I then messed with organization configuration in Exchange Server 2007 and believe I messed up the entire system! Now I'm really pissed off because I need to reinstall the entire exchange server and reimage my
