The update page indicates the latest update is 4.2.20 (April 4th, 2012) but every time I try to do this update, I get a message "Error encountered uploading update image".I have a ReadyNAS NV+ and a ReadyNAS NVX, both of which I have updated recently with no problems (to versions 4.1.12 and 4.2.24 respectively), but I just can't get the update to work on the Pro. I've tried a number of times over the past year to do this update and tried again twice today with no luck. You can download the update from here. In FrontView, install it by selecting the "update from a local file" option. Sometimes these messages show up while adding an image from your computer: "An unexpected error occurred while uploading your image, please try again later""Your image contains an unknown image file encoding. The file encoding type is not recognized, please use a different image""Sorry, we could not upload this file. Try saving it in a different format and upload again" There are several reasons that can cause upload errors: CMYK Mode - Logos and graphics designed for printed media are usually designed using CMYK mode because of the four different ink colors used in the printing process. CMYK images have larger file sizes that may prevent uploads. If the file size is small enough to upload it's automatically converted the RGB format, but the colors can also appear different because they don't always translate into the three-color light blend (RGB) used to render colors on monitors and screens. Turn off any color management settings in your image editor to prevent CMYK images.Layers - Layers make editing images easier, but they have a larger file size that prevents uploads. update failed NETGEAR ReadyNAS • View forum - Boot, Installation, Upgrade, and Expansion - www.readynas.com I downloaded the file, unzipped and uploaded the file to the NV+... it says the file is good and I clicked on the update button. After it rebooted, it said "Flash verification failed" and it ran up on 4.1.8, which is the last version I have been able to successfully run on. I tried the USB boot with 4.1.12 and 4.1.13, both failed. 4.1.8 seems to be the only version my system likes. I recently took all the data off in preparation for upgrading to 1T drives (yea, behind the curve.. but it's mostly for home use) so I'm not worried about losing any data. I have 4 brand new WD 1T drives, and 4.1.8 seems to work nicely.I have verified my system to be a NV+ v1 system, thanks to another forum post that showed the back of the system.Any ideas on how to get a newer firmware version installed? Thanks!Mike Date: Feb 2, 2014 Read responses in readynas.com Related messages ReadyNAS 316 firmware update 6.1.5 -> 6.1.6 I can no longer reach the local admin page, after updating the firmware (6.1.5 -> 6.1.6) on my ReadyNAS 316."http://readycloud.netgear.com/" could find the ReadyNAS, but "connection failed" when clicking the "manage" button.RAIDar could find the ReadyNAS, but "connection failed" when clicking...
