my search-fu needs work, and someone will point that out here. My sound didn't work out of the box, so I had to download and compile from source the latest alsa drivers with OSS support enabled. I recently installed xine for the first time. When I tried to load up Gnome after a quick reboot, no sound. It's telling me that no device for sound can be found. However, when I use the soundcard detection utility in Gnome, it lists both my onboard and SoundBlaster, but won't play a test sound. I've tried re-running alsaconf and it seems to detect the card fine. When I try to run "alsactl store", it tells me no sound card is detected again. This is driving me bonkers, I know there's some config file somewhere that just isn't set up quite so, I just can't for the life of me figure out what it might be. Any help would be much appreciated!
