I have followed a few posts here on how to set up a Nokia phone as a GPRS device. So as a good Fedora user I first Code: /sbin/lsusb I note the hex code from the output Code: Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0421:0001 Nokia Mobile Phones Then I log in as root and type Code: /sbin/modprobe usbserial vendor=0×421 product=0×001 ...and I get the following Code: FATAL: Error inserting usbserial (/lib/modules/2.6.26.6-79.fc9.i686/kernel/drivers/usb/serial/usbserial.ko): Invalid argument Why?! The other posts that I saw here were not getting this error message. Here are my specs: Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 Pentium III 750MHz 512MB RAM Nokia E61i connected via USB (1.1 version) T-Mobile USA Please advise. The drivers for most of the hardwares are available in the http://www.slax.org/forum.php?action=view&parentID=22696 Ubuntu itself, but they may have some conflict while automatically configuring them. It is always a problem with the USB modem to configure automatically. So you have to do it manually. The people who are new to error inserting Ubuntu will just switch from that Operating System because of these types of small issues. It is very simple to fix these problems. Here I am going to explain how to configure Micromax 3g USB modem manually.  Some may try lots of things with Ubuntu's configuration file. There is no need for doing that much.
