What is the output of dkms status ? comment:3 Changed 7 years ago by mantovam Hi frank. I fix the problem. When I install the package kernel-smp-devel, and re-run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup Must be the same version of the kernel. I guess that the error in dkms package, isn't important, because the virtualbox must install without this.I just instaled, because I didn't know the cause of the errors (Invalid module format). My suggetion to developer group, is make a pre-requirement when run the install of Virtual Box. Like: Check supported kernell Check if the version of gcc was the same that the kernel was buid. Check if there is packages kernel-devel. Check if the /usr/src/kernel/

been too lazy/busy to look into http://asgarddesigns.com.au/fatal-error-inserting-vboxnetflt-libmodules2-6-37-sabayonmiscvboxnetflt-ko-invalid-module-format/ it properly. Essentially my XP virtual machine (need it http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=240856 to run photoshop) running on Oracle Virtualbox has no net connection as vboxnetfilt would not load. The culprit ended up being the virtualbox-guest-additions package as when I run modprobe -v vboxnetflt it showed up:-
# error inserting insmod /lib/modules/2.6.37-sabayon/misc/vboxguest.ko
# WARNING: Error inserting vboxguest (/lib/modules/2.6.37-sabayon/misc/vboxguest.ko): Invalid module format
# FATAL: Error inserting vboxnetflt (/lib/modules/2.6.37-sabayon/misc/vboxnetflt.ko): Invalid module format
I had to remove virtualbox-guest-additions and reinstall virtualbox-modules and now all is working perfectly! linuxoraclesabayonvirtualbox PreviousHTC Desire HD lagging issues NextLessons Learned when invalid module format Vacating a Rental Property Logging In...
