I've recently setup a new small network in a HyperV Environment. I'm running a server with HyperV 2008 R2. Within that environment, I'm running a Windows Server 2008 R2 standard with the following roles installed, Active Directory Domain Services, DNS Server, DHCP Server and File Services. This server is setup as a domain controller. On a second server, i'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 standard with Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1. This is a member server. I have performed a clean install a few times now, and I'm consistently getting the following errors on the Exchange server: Log Name: Application Source: MSExchangeFDS Date: 2/1/2011 1:34:53 AM Event ID: 1028 Task Category: General Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: mail. | My Forums | Address Book | Member List | Search | FAQ | Ticket List | Log Out Unable to create Group Metrics distribution share. Set http://forums.msexchange.org/Unable_to_create_Group_Metrics_distribution_share%25/m_1800521499/tm.htm the "Microsoft Exchange Service Host" service to Automatic (Delayed Start) and this error goes away. Previous Thread Next Thread Loading... 0/5, 0 votes JO.Chicago Guest Hello, http://www.networksteve.com/exchange/topic.php/Exchange_Application_Log_Errors_on_Startup/?TopicId=24977& I have 2 servers, one with CAS, HUB and UM and another with MBX role. The first one upgraded fine to SP1, but the MBX server failed with the error below: - The Admin RPC connection is being established with server " mailboxservername" . - MapiExceptionLowLevelInitializationFailure: Unable to load exrpc32.dll exchange 2010 or one of its dependent DLLs (extrace.dll, exchmem.dll, msvcr90.dll, etc) So, right now only the CAS/HUB/UM server is in SP1, and the MBX in RTM. The system is still operational, hope no issues come up until I resolve that problem. Please advice. Thanks. Dec 11, 2010 Flag Post #1 Share Novak Wu Guest Hi, Based on my research, I suggest you exchange 2010 error remove the Discovery Search Mailbox and reboot the Mailbox server, and then run setup /m:upgrade to install SP1 again. If the issue persists, please post the error message in the Event Log and ExchangeSetup.log for research. Thanks. Novak Dec 15, 2010 Flag Post #2 Share JO.Chicago Guest Hi, I had done already what Novak suggested and received the same error. Looking at the beginning of the ExchangeSetup.log file, I find several lines that seem to be a problem and similar lines repeat quite a bit. It seems that there are problems finding the information about the Mailbox Role server in Active Directory. There are no errors being logged with Active Directory and the 2 servers seem to be working just fine otherwise. Any additional ideas? Thanks ----------Exchange configuration container for the organization is 'CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=MyDomain,DC=int'. Exchange organization container for the organization is 'CN=MyExOrganization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=MyDomain,DC=int'. Setup will search for an Exchange Server object for the local machine with name ' and get rid of them. I'm new to both Server 2008 R2 and Exchange 2010 so I really don't know what most of these mean or how to address them. If anyone can help - I'd really appreciate it :-) Event ID 1028 Process MSExchangeFDS.exe (PID=1032).
