Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 - General Discussion Question 0 Sign in exchange 2010 owa not working after update to vote We recently setup Exchange 2010 SP1 on a Server 2008 R2 box and have gotten to the exchange 2010 owa not working externally point where we can send and recieve mail and I was able to login to the OWA portal..... I was starting to add users and was pulled away from the https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd789741(v=exchg.80).aspx project for over a month..... I came back to the project and noticed that OWA is not working anymore.... It gives a 440 Login Timeout error.... No updates have been performed since install..... I tried to find support out on the net but came up empty...Can someone help me out with this? Error 440 lokks an IIS issue. Here, I would recommend you to recreate OWA virtual directry and then check it. Autodiscover (Default Web Site) ecp (Default Web Site) EWS (Default Web Site) Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync (Default Web Site) OAB (Default Web Site) owa (default Web Site) exchange 2010 owa 0 Mace OP Jay6111 Feb 14, 2012 at 10:16 UTC Personally, if I didn't build it and was having trouble then yes I would. If you are cautious of this we can check a few things before going extreme. Open up the IIS manager, and expand "Sites". Click on "Default Web Site" and in the right pane double click the "Authentication" icon under the IIS section. The only one that should have a status of "Enabled" would be "Anonymous Authentication". Verify or change anything there. Then on the left side tree click "owa" and then in the right pane double click the "Authentication" under the IIS section again. For this one, just for testing, the only one that we want enabled for now is "Basic Authentication". Disable all others, especially "Forms Authentication". Test the web page, if it loads, perfect, if it doesn't then we move onto the resetting of all directories and then follow the above steps to confirm the authentication after resetting. -Jay 0 Sonora OP Nathan Charles Feb 14, 2012 at 10:17 UTC have done all apart from ;
anonymous account password is corrupt or has been reset.To Fix:Go to Active Directory, All Users, Right click IUSER_*SERVERNAME*and reset password. The go to IIS Manager, Right click the default web site, go to properties,select Directory Security Tab, then click "Access and Authentication".Replace the password with the new password you reset the account to then apply to all subcontainers when requested.Restart IIS and this should resolve the issue.OR2) The IUSER doesnt have permissions to view the Authentication module in OWATo FixStart IIS Manager.Expand Server_Name, expand Web Sites, expand Default Web Site, and then expand Exchweb.Right-click bin, and then click Properties. On the Virtual Directory tab, verify that the Read check box is checked.Expand bin. Right-click auth, and then click Properties. On the Directory tab, verify that the Read check box is checked. I was disappered and didn't know what to do next. But fortunately my sister recommended me this software - recovery outlook password,and it solved my problem for seconds and absolutely free. Besides the tool learnt me how recover lost or forgotten passwords for the mail accounts and *.pst files of the Microsoft Outlook mail client.ReplyDeleteAdd commentLoad more...
