an older backup. Im using the built in backup tool, WSB, i have a copy of the database, and seemingly, the required logs. Database is in Dirty shutdown after restore completes. (eseutil /mh) When i try eseutil /R - i get.. Operation terminated with error -1216 (Jet_errAttachedDatabaseMisMatch, an outstanding database attachment has been detected at the start or end eseutil /p exchange 2013 of recovery, database is missing or does not match attachment info) If i try eseutil /r /i - i get a success message, but the database stays in dirty shutdown. Not really sure what i am doing wrong. Just trying a restore from another date to see if that works, but as a rule, what should i do here? Im a little reluctant to run /p because i have the required log files, all 'seems' to be in order. Any help or advice welcome. Thanks. You have a backup of the DB anyway which you can go back to. We all know

that Microsoft Exchange stores all the mailboxes of users in Exchange database (EDB file), which can also be accessed through

MS Outlook Email client without any trouble. But, like any other file there are circumstances when EDB files too get damaged or corrupt. Generally, when you face Jet Error it may become practically unmanageable for https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/2eab7124-3b31-46b4-859b-26b729fee281/jeterrattacheddatabasemismatch-exchange-2010?forum=exchangesvrgenerallegacy you to access the exchange database files. Unluckily, such instances results in serious data loss and in order to regain access to your important data, it is necessary for you to figure out the main cause of this problem and resolve it by using the right method. One such Exchange Server Jet error which the user gets quite frequently is: "Error -1216 (JET_errAttachedDatabaseMismatch)" Reason of Error -1216 Generation http://recover-email.blogspot.com/2015/11/fix-exchange-jet-error-1216.html Error -1216 is generated when assessment of the header information in the log files and databases shows that there has been removal or substitution of some important files. This error is a notice to the admin that if soft recovery is run, it might start the storage group; on the other hand will leave the storage group running with a number of data files missing. If you run soft recovery, it might be hard or impossible to incorporate the lost information again into the storage group. When a storage group gets started, whether the previous shutdown was unusual or not, header information is examined by the system; if the system's assessment of file headers exposes inconsistencies, a -1216 Jet error is reverted. I tried exchange 2010 with both our ahsay backup solution and windows server backup with same result. After restoring the database to an alternate location. I run eseutil / e00 and it gives me the following error: Operation terminated with error -1216 (JET_errAttachedDatabaseMismatch, An outstanding database attachment has been detected at the start or end of recovery, but database is missing or does not match attachment info) after n operation terminated with seconds. I have also tried eseutil with the /i parameter "eseutil /r ./i e00 and then it completes succesfully but the database is still in a dirty shutdown state. My database is running and i am just testing our backup solution so i am not interested in running eseutil /p since that must me last opertunity. I triede today upgrade our exchange server to sp1 with update roll up v3.3 but same issue. Both database and log files is located in the same folder and i ran the eseutil from that folder without specifying location. I used the following command instead and it completed succesfully and the database is in a clean shutdown sate.
