Exchange 2010 Organizational Forms Library Permissions
sp1 recently migrated from Exchange 2003. The organizational forms library has been set up as according to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg236889.aspx. I can organizational forms library exchange 2010 select the org forms library without error through outlook, but upon trying to publish a form I get, "Cannot publish the form because of a MAPI error. The operation failed." If I click publish a second time I get, "Cannot publish the form because of a MAPI error. You do not have permission to create a message in this folder." I have owner level permissions on the public folder in use for the org forms library. Looking for some guidance. Thanks! Check the permission on the eforms folder and see if yoou have permission to it, try owner and see what happensSukh Thursday, June 16, 2011 9:39 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote As stated in the original post, I have owner level permissions on the folder. However, I've found that my IT counterpart is able to post forms using his "everything admin" account. I was wondering what the specific minimum permission set should be in order to post to an organizational forms library. If the answer is owner, I would wondering if this additional information sheds any light on the issue? 20, 2005. Guest Guest Please, I'm pulling my hair out trying to fix this. I'm getting the following message when I try to change and then re-publish an outlook contact form I have designed: "Unable to successfully publish the form because of a MAPI error. The object could not be found." I was able to publish and use it initially, but not after I made changes (assigned field names, etc.). Simply saving my changes doesn't seem to update it. I tried saving the form to my desktop and publishing it from there with a different name, but no dice. Any ideas? It would help if I knew exactly what the error message meant. What is MAPI? I sure get it too. Just to document my woes..... 1) I can create and publish new custom forms to the Organizational Forms library using Outlook 2003. 2) I can then edit the forms, and republish them (open them, change them and then click Tools > Forms > Publish Form). 3) If I then go to use the forms, they have not changed 4) If I then go back to edit the form again, it pulls up the original version of the form. 5) If I publish to Personal Forms, the edit is correctly saved. If I repeat step 2 again, changes are not saved (again). 6) On the server (Exch Enterprise 2003), under Public Folders > Eforms Registry > Organizational Forms, I am an OWNER. 7) If I click try to Publish the forms with a new name under Organizational Forms (Tools > Forms > Publish Form As.. ), it works just fine. Of course, that is a pretty feeble workaround since it leaves a pile of incorrect forms in place, that I then need t

Solved Can't publish custom form to organizational forms library Posted on 2008-07-24 Exchange Outlook Active Directory 1 Verified Solution 1 Comment exchange 2010 1,909 Views Last Modified: 2008-07-25 In an effort to reduce the paper pushing and automate some of the simple day-to-day processes, I am starting to create forms that can be used in Outlook. We are running Exchange Server 2003. My Outlook client is 2007. I created a new check request form from "message" in "Standard Forms Library" and want to publish it to the Organizational Forms Library organizational forms library for all users to access. When I select "Publish form as" and select "Organizational Forms Library", give it a display name and form name, and click "Publish" I get the following error: "Cannot publish the form because of a MAPI error. The operation failed." I click "OK" and then "Publish" again, and get a different error: "Cannot publish the form because of a MAPI error. You do not have permission to create a message in this folder". I have given myself permission; I logged onto our Exchange server as Adminsitrator, opened the Exchange System Manager, expanded Administrative Groups, expanded Folders, right clicked Folders and selected View System Folders. I then clicked on EFORMS REGISTRY and right clicked "Organization Forms" in the right pane. I added my username (not Administrator) to the Client Permissions list giving my username "Author" authority. I clicked applyand ok. I also tried giving my username Ownerauthority, but it did not help. I continue to get the two error messages above. Did I miss a step? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
