This is the first time I noticed the issue at my end. When I investigated further I realized the issue - I have mounted the database and ran the ESEUtil. The database needs to be offline to read the header information. So I dismounted the database and ran the ESEUtil worked like a charm – bingo!! Happy debugging!! We had a storage failure last week and the exchange server 2007 went down. i restored a jet error backup from august. that went fine. I managed to get the data of my mailbox database.edb, but this mailbox is single without any tansaction logs or catalog data or anything. but i am sure that i have done to it an eseutil /p and i am sure that its state is clean shutdown. the problem is that i can't execute the command eseutil /mh access to source to see its state. it keeps telling me Initiating FILE DUMP mode... Error: Access to source database 'c:\mailbox database.edb' failed with Jet error -1022. Operation terminated with error -1022 (JET_errDiskIO, Disk IO error) after 0.203 seconds. The main point is that i want to merge it with the existing one so none of my mails are gone. can i just dismount the current one and mount this one? OR shall i do anything else? Help is appreciated. _____________________________Wazzz!!! It would be better if you restore the data from last good known backup.
