[MSFT]May 10, 20133 0 0 0 Recently I was playing for a VSS issue at my Exchange Server 2010 environment – when I run the ESEUtil (with its parameter /mh) command then access to source database failed with jet error 1811 I got the error “Jet error –1032”. > eseutil /mh "D:\Temp\tempdb.edb" Extensible Storage
Operation Terminated With Error -1811 (jet_errfilenotfound, File Not Found)

Jet Error 1032 Exchange 2013
Access to source database ‘D:\Temp\tempdb.edb’ failed with Jet error -1032. The error code –1032 points to JET_ERRFileAccessDenied, which tells us that I cannot access the file, as the file is locked or in use.
Jet_errfileaccessdenied Cannot Access File
This is the first time I noticed the issue at my end. When I investigated further I realized the issue - I have mounted the database and ran the ESEUtil. The database needs to be offline to read the header information. So I dismounted the database and ran the ESEUtil worked like a charm – bingo!! Happy debugging!! No matter what I do, I can't get ESEUTIL to address the database. -I have tried running ESEUTIL /p, and I have tried both Command Prompt and Exchange Management Shell both running as Administrator. I tried deleting the log files as well. Below is the error I get when trying to run ESEUTIL. [PS] C:\Windows\system32>eseutil /p "E:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Exchsvr\Mailbox Database 1258094299" Extensible Storage Engine Utilities for Microsoft Exchange Server Version 14.02 Copyright © Microsoft Corporation. access file, the file is locked or in use) after 10.79 seconds. The operation's I was attempting was an http://jermsmit.com/error-fileaccessdenied-jet_errfileaccessdenied/ integrity check on a database (ESEUTIL /G database_filename.edb). When https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26882730/ESEUTIL-d-ends-in-error-1032.html this failed with the error above. I verified that the database was dismounted and that my antivirus scanner was not locking the file. It took me a little bit of time but I soon released that the temp jet error file for the database would be on my system volume which did not have the space required to run this operation. That said I ran the command again; this time specifying a location for the temp file. That command looks something like this: ESEUTIL /G database_filename.edb /TE:\Mailbox\Temp\thisismytempfile.edb Please operation terminated with note that there is no space used after the command switch /T For more info on the ESEUTIL: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/192185 By jermsmit|How-To, Software, Technical|0 Comments About the Author: jermsmit Related Posts Comments are closed.
