source database C:\... failed with Jet error -1811"I have dismounted the mailbox store in the ESM prior to attempting the defrag and followed the instructions in the microsoft article 192185 for exchange 2000.Any advice about what could be stopping this would be welcome.ThanksCammy Post #: 1 Featured Links* RE: eseutil error 1811 - 20.Jun.2004 2:58:00 PM Henrik Walther Posts: 6928 Joined: 21.Nov.2002 From: Copenhagen, Denmark Status: offline Hi jet error 1022 Cammy,Could you please post the exact ESEUTIL /D command you're executing? This error indicates the priv1.edb file cannot be found. Like "c:\program files\"?ThanksCam (in reply to cammy) Post #: 3 RE: eseutil error 1811 - 21.Jun.2004 2:05:00 AM Exchange_Admin Posts: 376 Joined: 23.Feb.2003 From: Texas Status: offline Oh me. People with only windows experience. You are correct that it will not like the space. So what do you do to correct that? Enclose the full path in double quotes.Example:eseutil /d "c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb"The above is all on one line.Hope this helps. in Microsoft Exchange Server database (EDB file), which can be accessed using Microsoft Outlook Email client. You should regularly backup EDB operation terminated with error 1003 file to prevent any sort of data loss situations, if database is damaged. However, under some circumstances, Exchange Server database can not be accessed after restoring from a backup. The database restores properly, but http://forums.msexchange.org/eseutil_error_1811/m_120053900/tm.htm you encounter errors while trying to access it. This behavior leads to critical data loss and needs Exchange Server Recovery to be sorted out. For instance, you may come across any of the following behaviors after restoring the Exchange Server database from current backup: 1.You manage to restore the EDB file, but it single. There is no catalog data or transaction log file. 2.The Eseutil /p utility runs http://chinlandinternationalnetwork.com/resolving-access-to-source-database-failed-with-jet-error-in-exchange-server/ successfully on corrupt database, but it cannot be accessed. 3.You cannot check the state of your Exchange Server database using Eseutil /mh utility. 4.You get the following errors while checking the state of restored database: a) Initiating FILE DUMP mode… Error: Access to source database ‘c:mailbox database.edb' failed with Jet error -1022. b) Operation terminated with error -1022 (JET_errDiskIO, Disk IO error) after 0.203 seconds. When this behavior occurs, Exchange Server database becomes totally unusable and inaccessible. You encounter same behavior every time you try to open the database. In order to gain access of your valuable data, you need to figure out the root of this issue and perform Microsoft Exchange recovery by fixing it. Cause This behavior occurs due to missing log files or corrupt backup file. In both the cases, Exchange Server cannot access the source database and you face this issue. Resolution You can try resolving this problem using Eseutil /p command line tool or by restoring the database again from backup. If possible, move unaffected files from problem database to new database. If the above method does not work, you need to repair and restore corrupt Exchange Server database using advanced and powerful third-party applications, known as Exchange recov
