Make sure that you have plenty of free space on the drive you plan to do the defrag on. Also post the full command you are tyring. for example eseutil /d c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb would need to be enclosed in double quotes like this because of spaces eseutil /d "c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb". 0 Message Author Comment by:lindemannfox2007-02-28 Thanks. I had the wrong syntax. I am trying the new command now... 0 Message Author Comment by:lindemannfox2007-02-28 I am running the defrg now

The database will not mount which is not and in the past I run eseutil /p to repair the database and all is well. This time I get jet error an error...Jet error -1811 file not found. I have not had much luck finding anything on google and really need help. Has anyone found a resolve for this? Thank you in advance for any information you can share. 0 Question by:tuye Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 76 Active today Best Solution byAlan Hardisty Yep - the wrong path will also cause it not to find the database ; ) Glad you managed to get it running. Once you have completed operation terminated with the eseutil /p, you need to run: eseutil /d and isinteg -s servername -fix Go to Solution 12 Comments LVL 34 Overall: Level 34 Exchange 25 Storage 1 Message Expert Comment by:Shreedhar Ette2010-04-24 Kindly post the snap shot of the error. 0 LVL 76 Overall: Level 76 Exchange 65 Storage 5 Message Active today Expert Comment by:Alan Hardisty2010-04-25 Make sure you use the correct syntax and if you have spaces in the file name, you wrap the entire string in quote marks e.g., : eseutil /p "e:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb" 0 Message Author Comment by:tuye2010-04-25 The syntax I used it as you posted. I successfully restored another storage group from the same month end backup tape but it is now failing with two other storage groups. I currently have started another restore so will post a snapshot of the error when I run it again. Thanks so much. I really do need any help you can offer. Most of what I have seen indicates the database is corrupt and a third party tool is required to repair the problems. Curious if anyone has seen Exchange databases unrepairable to the point of not being able to restore the data. 0 LVL 76 Overall: Level 76 Exchange 65 Storage 5 Message Active today Expert Comment by:Alan Hardisty2010-04-25 Weird. January 5th, 2011 2:04am It gives error because this behavior occurs due to missing log files or corrupt backup file. In both the cases, Exchange Server cannot access the source database and you face this issue. Resolution You can try resolving this problem using Eseutil /p command line tool or by restoring the database again from backup.
