I have just put a Microsoft Access file onto a network drive here at work. When one of the users opens the file (the others haven't tried yet) she gets the following error pop up... "Could not lock file". I've heard could not lock this could be a permissions issue so went in and gave all of the users full-control within that folder. I then had the user with the error restart. Again, the same thing. Any ideas? When a database is shared, and a user goes to open it. Access will lock the database so if another user connects they wont be able to conflict in their work. Her problem doesnt reside in opening it, her error resides in locking it after she opens it. So, either the permissions on the database are incorrect, or the permissions in the folder are incorrect.... Will you post a copy of the database? And I will test it. www.google.com - Pay Tribute.
