Could Not Lock File 3050
Not open for further replies. Advertisement dfriend846 Thread Starter Joined: Aug 11, 2005 Messages: 202 We have an Access runtime error 3050 couldn't lock file database on our network which about 2-3 of us use concurrently. This is not a problem for us. One person cannot access it because of a, "Could Not Lock File" error. access could not lock file error 3050 The rest of us do not have this problem. Can anyone tell me how to correct this? Is the problem in the person's security or configuration of Access or in the database? Thanks. dfriend846, Sep 13, 2005 #1 Sponsor dfriend846 Thread Starter Joined: Aug 11, 2005 Messages: 202 Here's an answer to the above problem: The users who had problems
"open Databases By Using Record-level Locking"
opening Access had read only rights for the network folder containing the database. If they were the first (only?) user then there was no problem but if they logged on as a multiple user the program could not create a lock file since they did not have write priveleges. When changed to allow write priveleges the problem went away. dfriend846, Oct 2, 2005 #2 Adeyan Joined: Jan 4, 2007 Messages: 9 Thanks, exactly what i was looking for Adeyan, Jan 4, 2007 #3 glisando Joined: Jun 1, 2007 Messages: 15 I am having the same problem in my workplace too. I just took over the admistration of the database recently. There is a user who always gets the 'could not lock file' error Is giving them 'write' privellages the only way to solve this problem? What if that particular user is not supposed to do any editing of the data, and I end up giving him 'WRITE' privellages? Could it be something to do with the registry settings of the user's notebook/PC? I managed to get some info from this site : http://su

InRoads V08.11.07.492/615 MicroStation V08.11.09.357 Windows 7 64bit I have come across ldb file an issue while working in InRoads SELECTseries 2, V08.11.07.615. (My coworkers are all microsoft access record-locking information on InRoads SELECTseries 2, V08.11.07.492) I can no longer access a project's ALG file. Initially, I had no issue accessing the file with the RWK (or with manually opening the ALG file). I crashed sometime two days ago and ever since then I've been unable to access the file. Right before the crash, I https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-access-could-not-lock-file-error.398720/ was attempting to "check out" the alignment(s) and Cogo buffer. (We have our XIN file set up to allow "Read-Only" access when opening the ALG file(s)). After the crash, I attempted to access the ALG file and it will not open. It provides me with the error message "Try again, unable to lock file". I then deleted the LCK file that was found in the directory but it http://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/f/5922/t/92116 did not help. I even attempted to give myself Read-Write access to the directory (since it shown "highlighted" as Read-Only) but that did not work either. Other users in the same office are able to access the ALG file for this project and I'm able to access other ALG files for the same project but just not this one. What is an "NLF" file? That is the only other file in the directory that I haven't touched. As of right now, I've been working with the ALG file from my Desktop and will update the one in the project folder when I'm finished with my changes. This post helps you recover files easily from either Desktop Comfort or from within Mobile comfort. The files once locked with Gallery Lock are stored in Application Specific Directory; that is Data Directory in the Phone's Memory. Check the below screenshots: Once You accessed the Data Directory of gallery Lock, the Protected Folder is presented, which contains the locked files with the .glk extension. All you have to do is, cut them all; needed files and paste to some other folder (You need to move the files, because later if you ever wanted to lock the files again or just wanted to uninstall the Application; you will be in big trouble loosing your files) Rename the files with .jpeg extension; And you have just successfully unlocked aka recovered aka rescued files. In-case you wanted to do this in windows with the usb storage mounted onto Windows, you have to go into the same folders specified and move the files to different folder (Note that the visibility of known file types extensions are hidden in the Folder Options in Windows, so you have to first disable this option and proceed to rename the files to .jpeg extension) Detailed instructions given below: In cases like if you have groove installed in your system with the Office product installed, the chances of changing the file extension will be difficult, so I have addressed the same issue and came forward with the solution. See the below screenshots. The file association should be changed in the control panel to fix this case, once you change the file association to txt or someother type, you will be able to rename the extension from windows explorer context. Once you are in the file association menu, change the file associati
