Users should not be opening the database for exclusive use which is what the message sound like to me. I'm just trying to figure out what's causing this? A setting on their local PC, something with the link? I'm more on the non-tech side but trying to help the user out on this. None of the other dozen plus users have a problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regardless, your problem sounds like Possibility 1 or 2 above (if it's 1 specific user and no other users have problems and that user gets the error every time.) If it happens randomly with this user (and other users), it could then be another specific user which is locking the mdb when they open it. I had it once where when 1 specific user got into the mdb, they locked it for other users. It was because this specific user didn't have write permissions to the folder (they only had read permissions.) Last edited by pkstormy; 12-03-08 at 18:47. Expe
