Advertisement dfriend846 Thread Starter Joined: Aug 11, 2005 Messages: 199 We have an Access runtime error 3050 couldn't lock file database on our network which about 2-3 of us use concurrently. This is not a problem for us. One person cannot access it because of a, "Could Not Lock File" error. access could not lock file error 3050 The rest of us do not have this problem. Can anyone tell me how to correct this? Is the problem in the person's security or configuration of Access or in the database? opening Access had read only rights for the network folder containing the database. If they were the first (only?) user then there was no problem but if they logged on as a multiple user the program could not create a lock file since they did not have write priveleges. What if that particular user is not supposed to do any editing of the data, and I end up giving him 'WRITE' privellages? .ldb file should automatically get created when user connects to the database and automatically get deleted when user stops using the database. The way to fix this problem is to delete the .ldb file. Multi User Access Database 2010 couldn't lock file error The db is split, BE and FE. I have 3 admins who have no problem accessing the database and 2 users who can access the db but intermittently. Users can access the db with no errors when the other 3 admins are not running the file. But once the admins are running the db, the 2 users cannot access even from the FE.
