Could Not Lock File Error 3050 P: n/a El Network users http://www.utteraccess.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1602560 with read-only access are getting this error message when another user is in the database. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?? Thanks! Jan 6 '06 #1 Post Reply Share this Question 1 Reply P: n/a Allen Browne I suspect Access is attempting to open the database (or ldb) lock file with write access, and of course that is failing. What happens if you open the database from a shortcut that uses the /ro switch to explicitly open it read-only? Example target for the shortcut: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\MyFile.mdb" /ro (Another possibility is that the original use has the database open exclusively.) -- Allen Browne - Microsoft MVP. I changed everyone's permissions from read-only to write thinking this would solve the problem and it seemed to work at first but the error has resurfaced. It seems to be happening periodocally as opposed to every user.Any ideas?Doug SteeleView Member Profile Mar 4 2008, 09:37 AM Post#2UtterAccess VIPPosts: 20,213Joined: 8-January 07From: St. Catharines, ON (Canada)It sounds as though all your users are using the same MDB (or MDE) file.
