GroupWise 7 client Resolution SOLUTION:In an upgrade scenario, theGroupWise 7 install creates a newGoupWise MAPI profile butdoes not delete the oldGroupWiseMAPI profile nor cause the new"Novell GroupWise" MAPI profile to be designated as the default MAPI profile. After the install the two MAPI profiles can beseen fromControl Panel|MailNovell Default Settings Novell GroupWiseThe issue outlook mapi error fix is that the old profile "Novell Default Settings" does not contain the "Novell GroupWise" MAPI service componentthat makes calls to the GroupWise 7 client. To fix the issue the new "Novell GroupWise" profileshould be specified as the default profile. TheoldNovell Default Settings profile can then be optionally be deleted. To programmatically set the defaultMAPI profile to "Novell GroupWise" a Windows reg filecontaining the following information can be created and merged into the Windows system registry of a Windows workstation.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles]"DefaultProfile"="Novell GroupWise"The file name should end in a .reg extension .e.g"gwmapi.reg". Running this file will merge the specified settings into the Windows registry making "Novell GroupWise" the defaultMAPI profile. This reg file could be run from a Login Script or deployedtrough the GroupWise client setup via the ADDON configuration referenced in the following link:https://www.novell.com/documentation/gw7/gw7_admin/data/bv4v0uy.html#a2tbb5eThis solutionisan update to Cool Solutions website https://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tip/16797.html Additional Information PROBLEM: Windows MAPI applications n
a long story fix mapi repair tool short, the machine got into a state where I would fix mapi outlook 2013 receive a message like "The MAPI Session Handle of the Novell GroupWise ‘Object Request broker' could not https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=3060400 be accessed. The address book cannot run" every time I tried to compose an email. A lot of searching turned up very little help. Novel had a craptastic answer regarding this, suggesting that you uninstall http://biasecurities.com/2008/05/fix-for-groupwise-mapi-session-handle-issue/ everything including Outlook and then reinstall. But this issue is related to the MAPI client not being installed properly. You don't have to reinstall GroupWise like other sites suggest, rather just install the MAPI client from Microsoft. After I installed the MAPI client, Groupwise works as it should… Post navigation ← The benefits of using Git for source control Canada 2008 → Welcome Jim Geurts is a software developer and entrepreneur located in Milwaukee, WI. is used by applications to call the default email client to send a message without that application having to know anything http://kb.mozillazine.org/MAPI_Support about what email client is doing the actual work. For example, https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/outlook-groupwise-18051/ if Thunderbird was the default email client you could use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or MYOB to send a message. Many scanners also use SimpleMAPI to mail an image file. All you need to do to support SimpleMAPI is to configure Thunderbird as mapi error the default email client and make certain you don't configure any other email clients that you might run as the default email client. Otherwise the email clients will fight to be the default email client. The default email client replaces MAPI32.DLL with a stub that redirects any calls to that DLL to itself. This isn't mapi error outlook something unique to Thunderbird, that is the way Microsoft designed it. This can have side-effects. Outlooks calendar is implemented as a MAPI provider, so it needs to call the original MAPI32.DLL. This will break if you make Thunderbird the default email client. Novells Groupwise application only supports SimpleMAPI but it insists on being the default email client or it will not work. You can try to workaround this by copying the Groupwise MAPI32.DLL stub to the Groupwise directory. (When a application tries to find a DLL it normally searches in the current directory before it searches the windows system directory.) Thunderbird's SimpleMAPI support is buggy. It also doesn't fully implement MAPIAddress and MAPIDetails. They always return MAPI_E_FAILURE. MAPIResolveName is implemented in Thunderbird 13.0 [1]. Some third party applications that actually only use SimpleMAPI calls check for whether ExtendedMAPI is supported. This is sloppy programming, and there is nothing you can do to work around it. It's difficult to figure out why
