Event ID: 7514 Severity=Error Text: An error occurred while loading Microsoft Exchange Intelligent Message Filter. The error code is . "The error code is . Intelligent Message Filter writes this event when an error occurs when enabling or updating Intelligent Message Filter. Uninstall the new version of Intelligent Message Filter (newly installed Intelligent Message Filter Update package) and try to reinstall." -- Alexander Zammit WinDeveloper Software IMF Tune - Unleash the Full Intelligent Message Filter Power http://www.windeveloper.com/imftune/ wrote in message news:1168591786.500874.294730@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://microsoft.newsgroups.archived.at/public.exchange.admin/200701/070112150026.html [Terribly sorry for the post in Outlook.General if you noticed it here. Since that post though and me re-registering latest IMF manually, I've gotten 4 messages in UceArchive in less than 5 minutes. I would still like to know what that error code meant though....] Has anyone ever come across this? Exchange 2003 SP2 running on SBS. I get no http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/Exchange/microsoft.public.exchange.admin/2007-01/msg01370.html hits for that error code on the subject of Exchange/IMF (only hits are for Windows Updates), so does anyone know what it means? Basically what is happening is that everytime a mail comes in from an external server, this is logged randomly and the mail does not get a SCL attached to it (internal mail still has -1 attached). I do have the ContentFilter installed, but AFAIK it's working as the XML file opens fine in IE, etc. etc. My only idea at the moment is my IMF updates were "rolled back" to 2006.05.11 sometime this afternoon (due to a lack of judgement error from someone else who logs onto this server). When I try to uninstall it, Microsoft Update only finds these again, which is what our new WSUS v3 beta2 server has. I will have to wait till the 17th to see if the new updates will correct it (I have had maybe 5 messages in the UceArchive since this rollback and usually I see 20/hour). In the meantime, I have manually registered the ones in
with my IMF Filter Updates. I have SBS 2003 Premium running with Exchange SP2. I also have WSUS installed and running fine. I do not http://www.winvistatips.com/threads/imf-filter-updates.652005/ know why but Automatic Updates keeps promting me to install IMF updates, even if i have already installed them previously. I also recieve the following error in my event viewer: an error occurred while loading Microsoft Exchange Intelligent Message Filter. The error code is 0x8007007e. For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp. when i receive this error, IMF goes down and we receive a lot of spam. If i microsoft exchange install one of the pending updates, IMF restarts and works fine until we get the error again. When i look in my Add/Remove Program console, I do not see SP2 for Exchange installed. However, if I check my Exchange server, it shows SP2 as installed. The add/remove console does not show the latest IMF Update, it reports the very first one i manually installed last year. I understand microsoft exchange intelligent that this is not a problem. When i check the C:\Program Files\Exchsvr\bin\MSCFV2. i see thre folders (6.5.7912.0 t0 6.5.7918.0) containing the last three updates to IMF. At the base of this folder are two files MSExchange.UseContentFilter.dat and .dll date to November of 2006. When i check the registry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\UPDATES\EXCHANGE SERVER 2003\SP3\KB907747 I find that the file name is that of the latest update, but its install date is November 2006. In the KB907747\Files Key there is nothing. What can i do to fix this problem. Can i reinstall Excahnge SP2 again without any problems. Do i have to uninstall SP2 first and if so how do i do that? Previously i was having problems with Monitoring and now i have that solved. The reason was that i had Indexing On in my C drive. Once i turned off indexing and reinstalled monitoring it has been working fine. I also had to set the disable key for the per monitors in the registry 0. Could Indexing have caused some problem with the SP2 install?
