We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 with an operating system of Windows Server 2003 Enterprise R2. The problem I am having is when i try to start system attendant, it tells me that it started then stopped, and gives an example of another service that does that when it has nothing to do. Then I try tostart the Exchange Information store, MTA Stacks, Event, and all of those service come back with an error 1068, dependency group failed to start. I am looking for any solutions that will help me get this running. Reminding you that I am new to this, if there is any information you would like that I am missing on here, please let me know that as well. Thank you all so much and I look forward to any and all replies. Also check the event viewer for any Exchange related errors that may have occured before the on posted here. most importantly check that you can still mount the information store. If you cannot mount it then yourdatabase is corrupt and the error message that you are reporting is honestly the least of your concerns. In the bigger picture, you could be sitting with a corrupt exchange server. if the problem with IIStry to start it and then start the rest of services if it has the same problem and couldn't start so you should uninstall the IIS service and reinstall it back again , after doing so if the problem still you should make a recovery for Exchange using the disataser recovery switch "

However once, I restart these services with the new account instead of the local account, it no longer works. After some research I've found this "http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;239762&Product=exch2003" So my http://forums.msexchange.org/Exchange_Services/m_1800394060/tm.htm question is, has anyone ever been able to start Exchange services under a different accout other then the local account? If not then this is a crappy book that Microsoft put out, I've even check their corrections page for this and it never mentions this problem "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903272/en-us" Can someone recommend a good Exchange book? Confirm that the user is in all of the listed groups. Look at the event log and see what errors you get. That book is great. This domain account is a member of "enterprise admins", "domain admins" and "schema admins". I get the follow messages, 1.
