When I deploy it to my development environment which is on the same server as where I develop in visual studio the app works fine in runtime. But when I make a MSI from the deployed app in the development environment and then install it on the test environment I get the next error: The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from

HRESULT: 0x80070002) The error occurs when I drop a file at the receive location where the custom pipeline component is used. After some google I found that it has to do with the GAC. But when I installed the MSI to the test environment I also "installed" the .dll of the custom pipeline component to the GAC by using Gacutil. Whats did I do wrong? Tuesday, January 27, 2015 12:13 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi Ronald, I simulated this error and tried to use Process Monitor tool to find the root cause of this issue. We know that this error is due to one of the dependent assemblies not being Gaced. But there is no evidence to find the name of the component which is not GACed. This becomes more complex when you have more than one wrapper component. One of ways to find the solution for this issue is by using theProcess Monitor tool. Since this tool captures all the run time events, its possible with this tool to find the failed event inside a process runtime. I have blogged about this and how to use this excellent tool to capture this abo

the root cause using Process Monitor tool There was a question asked recently in MSDN BizTalk forums that the questioner has deployed a solution with various BizTalk components. And https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/2467f505-331e-4149-a130-42c6b13d5528/the-system-cannot-find-the-file-specified-exception-from-hresult-0x80070002?forum=biztalkgeneral it worked fine in development when he deployed the code in test environment; he was getting the error as follows: “….Error details: The system cannot find the file specified.” This generally occurs when one of the dependent assemblies is not GACed. But how to identify which assembly did I miss to deploy? One of the ways to debug this http://www.fortuvis.com/blog/biztalk-error-details-the-system-cannot-find-the-file-specified-find-the-root-cause-using-process-monitor-tool-2/ issue is by using Process Monitor tool. I tried to simulate this case, where I created a map wherein I have used a custom component (a custom functiod), I deployed/GACed the schemas and maps but not the custom component. Created a simple Receive Location with File adapter to pick a file from a folder, configured the map (which has the custom component in it) in the Receive Port’s inbound map and a send port with the filter based on Receive port. Drop a file in the folder and message got suspended with the above error. Now I reran the same case with Process Monitor running. In the Process Monitor, I set filter for Process Name to be my BizTalk host name. So Process Monitor filter was like this.. Process Name is BTSNTSVC.exe Result is not SUCCESS Many processes will be running in your server and it’s vital to provide filter to get the refined result set. Also I ensured that I have stopped all other host instances and lessen my distractions from o

It turned out that I had forgotten to sign the system the assembly with the functoid, so the script I have to deploy a new functoid failed when adding the assembly to the GAC, which I didn’t notice, since the script runs so fast I never see the result But really.. why can’t an error like that contain the name of the file that cannot the system cannot be found? -- eliasen Monday, 18 January 2010 00:39:50 (Romance Standard Time, UTC+01:00) Comments [0] | Theme design by Jelle Druyts Calendar <2010 January> SunMonTueWedThuFriSat272829303112345678910111213141516171819202122232425262728293031123456 MVP July 2004, July 2008, July 2009 and July 2010.
