If so, have you verified that the corresponding A records exist in DNS and SPN attributes have been properly set? I'm getting application errors (Event ID 1030 and 1006, source Userenv) and it appears to only be for one user - ME! Event ID 1006 reads: Windows cannot bind to *mydomain.com* domain. (Invalid Credentials). windows cannot bind Group Policy processing aborted. Event ID 1030 reads: Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this. I looked up the ID's on EventID.net but found no real help there. Hoping the spiceworks community can help. I've spent entirely too much time on this, but it's bugging me. Or you are the only user logging into this machine? By the sound of it, you "cloned" or "ghosted" this machine and changed it's name but did not change the Security Identifier (SID) of the machine. Now it seems to be completely confusing the AD -Computers portion. If this is the case: - Remove the machine from the Domain. - Delete the %machinename% from the AD (if still there) - Run an Application called "NEWSID", which is downloadable from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/
On SBS 2003R2 I'm getting this error in the Application log: Windows cannot bind to PSRT.local domain. (Local Error). Group Policy processing aborted. Help and Support gives these suggestions: (I have noted the results below) In Event Viewer, review the event description. Look for additional details regarding why the computer has an account problem. >>Nothing Else Prior in the event viewer.* In Event Viewer, in the System folder, check for any networking-related messages, such as Netlogon messages, that indicate a network connectivity issue. >> The redirector failed to determine the connection type. (however the NIC's are set manually to 100BT FD At the command prompt, type netdiag, and review any errors. Typically, you must resolve these errors before Group Policy processing can continue. >> NetDiag will not run I get a DNSAPI.dll error At the command prompt, type gpupdate, and then check Event Viewer to see whether the Userenv events are logged again. >> Yes it happens agian. Verify that the domain controller can be contacted through Domain Name System (DNS), by trying to access \\mydomain.com\sysvol\mydomain.com. >> Yes, I can contact this location without a problem. Verify that you can access the domain controller by using tools such as the Active Directory Users and Computers. >> Yes, I can access the domain controller Check to see whether other computers on your network are having the same problem. >> Clients do not have this problem only the SBS server. Notes: the sbs server is multi-homed WAN / LAN PUBLIC/PRIVATE DNS on both NIC's are set to the LAN side address. (I have also tried nothing inthe WAN side and 127.0.0.1 in the WAN side.) Local DNS is running on this server and the records all point to the LAN address. There is no gateway set on the LAN NIC.
