your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Troubleshooting some errors that are occurring on my workstation. I'm getting application errors (Event https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/22920-group-policy-issue-userenv-error-1030-and-1006 ID 1030 and 1006, source Userenv) and it appears to only be for one user - ME! Event ID 1006 reads: Windows cannot bind to *mydomain.com* domain. (Invalid Credentials). Group Policy processing aborted. http://solexpert.blogspot.com/2012/03/3-windows-cannot-query-for-list-of.html Event ID 1030 reads: Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for windows cannot this. I looked up the ID's on EventID.net but found no real help there. Hoping the spiceworks community can help. I've spent entirely too much time on this, but it's bugging me. Or you are the only user logging into this machine? By the sound of it, you "cloned" or "ghosted" this machine and changed it's name but did not change the Security Identifier (SID) of the machine. Now it seems to be completely confusing the AD -Computers portion. If this is the case: - Remove the machine from the Domain. - Delete the %machinename% from the AD (if still there) - Run an Application called "NEWSID", which is downloadable from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897418.aspx - Re-add to the domain. 0 Chipotle OP Jeremy5285 Sep 5, 2008 at 3:33 UTC Well I am the only one that logs into this machine. When I log in using a domain admin account there is no issue. I am logging on as a domain user. This workstation is less than 3 months old. Never been cloned. 0 Cayenne OP Jason5373 Sep 5, 2008 at 3:38 UTC Are you authenticating through an SBS? 0 Chipotle OP Jeremy5285 Sep 5, 2008 at 3:49 UTC Server 2003 DC
Event Type: Error Event Source: Userenv Event Category: None Event ID: 1030 Date: 3/29/2012 Time: 12:33:33 PM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: SATURN Description: Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. ======================================================================= my WORDS: There were a lot of searching on internet, some says that replacing network card resolve their issue, some says etc. etc. but all solutions were not possible in my production environment as there is no concept of server restart in production environment. Solution: Log off and Log-in back your user on DNS Server / Active Directory (rare works :). Replace Network Card ? (not possible in production) Check your DNS Server and delete old DNS Server records from DNS Server. Type CMD & use gpupdate /force (if there is an error Event ID 1058) restart your DNS Server Services (Server & Client both) restart your DNS Server / AD Server In replacing NIC Card etc, there is nothing that happens but your MAC / Physical Layer again resync with other DNS / Active Directory Server and that what we do in restarting Services. Hope this will solve your problem without restart.
