Go to Start -> Run -> windows firewall error 1068 the dependency service failed to start Type in: sfc /scannow (with a space after sfc) then click ok. let it run. You may need your Windows XP install disk. If that does not help then The web page "Error 2" when starting the Windows Firewall service seems to have a pretty good answer.
