Me too! One of our clients is getting this error too. They have a PocketPC 2003 device syncing over a wifi connection on the WAN side. They use SBS 2003 with all service packs and Exchange 2003 with SP2. I've checked knowledge base article 842541. Indications are that this error occurs because the user may have a very full calendar and that it's supposed to have been fixed with Exchange 2003 SP2 - but my user has disabled syncing of his calendar and the server already has SP2! Any clues from anyone would be most helpful. Event ID 3005: Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [sams6301.SMF.Local] User: [First.Last@domain.com] HTTP status code: [500]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly. This event appears for most iPhone or Android users that we have, save a few. Everyone is able to access their Exchange mailboxes and calendars without a hitch except for one user. They can only use their iPhone for mail. The moment I enable calendars everything stops synchronizing and the phone goes into the eternal "Looking for Mail" loop. If I drop everything (mail, reminders, etc) but the calendar from their iPhone, I get the same result.... According to Microsoft and EventID.net, there are a multitude of causes & fixes for this error. Below is what I have done so far... Emptied the affected user's Deleted Items, Drafts & Outbox folders. Overall cleanup of the entire mailbox Used the Outlook /cleanreminders & Outlook /resetfolders switches Recreated the Exchange virtual directory "Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync" Verified Virtual Directory permissions Ruled out their iPhone as the cause by setting
