will have, zero information on WMDC... which appears to be even worse than activesync... (would have never thought that was possible) ActiveSync Alternatives???!!! I have just finished transferring all of my contacts and calendar to Google and I am http://www.bevhoward.com/ASync.htm now using Google's free microsoft exchange sync. It's not perfect, but it is transparent and trouble https://kb.intermedia.net/article/2168 free, plus, much more reliable than Async or wmdc. Two major considerations; It does not currently sync contact "categories" although google hints that it might be available in the future. Google's exchange sync settings removes all hyperlinks from contacts "notes" field... a major consideration for me since I have used them extensively since 2000. Don't expect help from google... however, I have posted activesync error extensive notes from my research and experiments on setting up and using google sync at http://BevHoward.com/GoogleSync.htm So! In it's questionable wisdom, microsoft has killed it's best source of tech support by shutting down all of it's public NNTP newsgroup forums (summer of 2010.) Since the web interface that has replaced these forums is excellent and squandering the time that regular responders need to post help and suggestions to user questions posed about windows mobile, I'm fresh out of suggestions activesync error pocketpc on where to go for help... if you find a good forum, especially if it's an nntp forum, drop me an email. There is now a Microsoft NewsGroup "web interface" web based interface, but my experience with it is that I am too dumb to use it. Please! Don't email me asking about activesync as the only advice I have to give any longer is to find a good windows mobile help forum... praise, on the other hand is always welcome ;-) Can't "Get Connected" PST Alternatives Reusing Device Name Unresolved Items Refused Notes 3.6 Upgrade Blues Killing the "Installer" Syncing Large Trees IR Syncs Wireless Syncs USB Connect Problems Syncing Outside of the "
0x86000C09, 0x80883002 When establishing aconnection to the server on a Windows Mobile device, you may receive themessage "Synchronization failed. Attention required." If you click on Attention required you will receive anerror code to troubleshoot the issue. The following error codes are described below: ActiveSync error 0x86000108ActiveSync error 0x80004005ActiveSync error 0x85010004ActiveSync error 0x86000C09ActiveSync error 0x80883002 ActiveSync error 0x86000108 Generally when you receivethe error 0x86000108 for ActiveSync, it indicates that there isa corrupted item in the mailbox, contactsor calendar. The best way to resolve this issue isto set the mailbox to download ALL ITEMS to the device. You can do this by navigating to the ActiveSync settings on the device: ActiveSync > Menu > Options > Mailbox / Calendar > Settings > Download ALL > OK. If the issue persists, it is likely that the corrupted item is located in contacts. To find a corrupted contact: InOutlook, go to Contacts and choose to view the contacts by Company View. Once mailbox contacts are in this view, arrange the list by name (A on top). This brings all the empty lines and entries that start with blank spaces or special characters to the top. If you see any blank lines, delete them.If you see any fields with special characters or spaces, fix or delete that contact. Perform a re-synchronization of the mailbox. This should fix the problem. If you still have problems, try this alternate solution: In Outlook, go to Mail. Create a temporary folder as a subfolder of the Inbox. Move all emails that are in the Inbox to the new temporary folder. Sync the device. It should sync successfully now. Move the emails back to the Inbox folder. Sync the device again. It should sync successfully again and it should continue working. If you are also having trouble syncing the calendar, try the following: In Outlook, go to Calendar. In the view menu, cli
