Sometimes the error briefly goes away, but I haven't found a clear pattern. For example, the problem briefly went away when I tried this (another thread in these forums). However, the problem quickly reappeared after a couple of minutes. The problem also briefly went away when I turned off requiring SSL to the server. http://www.smartphoneforums.com/forums/ppc-6700-xv6700/69229-85010001-error-activesync-direct-exchange-server.html The problem happens both when the PDA is cradled and uncradled. Soft booting does not fix the problem. I'm at a total loss here. I just got this PDA today, and I already upgraded it to the new ROM. All I have installed is .Net CE 2.0 and WiFiFoFum. The server I am ActiveSyncing against is a very reliable corporate server cluster that is almost never down. Re-cradling the PDA does not fix this. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Strangely, just a few minutes after posting this note, it starts working again. But I am sure it will fail again soon. I've rebooted everything 10 times but nothing. I tried http://srv-dc/oma and it works fine. It complained about activesync error 85010001 by browser not being the right type but it worked. I even went to my external .com from my phone with the /oma and logged in with my phone's internet explorer and it complained abou the browser but it worked also. I don't use ssl to connect and I have basic, and integrated checked with no IP restrictions. Please help! My account works on the mobile phone but everytime I try to setup another user I get the error listed above. I have already blew out and rebuilt the exchange account. I have tried to create new accounts and set them up. The phone is an htc touch 2 pro, exchange 2003. I just don't know why the android/iphone will work but the windows mobile would not. The user has mobile access enabled, the server is set to allow unsupported devices etc. This worked fine since the user was setup then it stopped last week. I am trying to find out what changed but I just don't see anything. I am looking for clues on what to do. It did give one warning. The following authentication methods are enabled, but they aren't allowed authentication methods for this service. Methods: Negotiate, NTLM I can connect to the server without ssl with my account but not with anyone else. I tested the system with the users account. 0 Datil OP Jono Dec 13, 2010 at 7:42 UTC I sometimes found that the WM phones did not clear the previous users settings and so would attach with a mixed up account. Check in the log file eg C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC1 it should display the user phone IMEI etc 1. Ensure the user can login using OWA and note any errors 1. If they can login of do a hard reset on the phone back to the defaults copy the cert and set the
