Please note that there is Table Break applied on Year My problem is when I use the same SUM() function in grand total i get #MULTIVALUE error as below and even i dont use the sum() function in grand total i get this error. Year = 2012 Item Item Count Item Sum AB 2 7 BC 2 16 DB 1 20 ------------------------------------------ Total Year 2012 5 #MULTIVALUE Please let me know if there is any way to remove this #MULTIVALUE error when there is break being applied on Year Thanks Teja Back to top Mark PForum DevoteeJoined: 03 Feb 2003Posts: 10292Location: Manchester, UK Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2013 6:49 amPost subject: Re: #MULTIVALUE error using sum() function Is Item Sum a variable? If so, what is its definition? Normal measures do not suffer from this problem so there must be something about item sum that doesn't fit._________________Current version I'm using: 4.1 SP3 Next available for contract or consultancy work: October 4th 2016 ______________________________________ Note to clients: The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten Back to top raghus27Forum MemberJoined: 18 Mar 2008Posts: 4 Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2013 6:52 amPost s

There are a few options to address this: Use measure objects that are named "SUM", if they exist - e.g., SUM http://www.upenn.edu/computing/da/bo/webi/qna/webi_multivalueWarning.html Actual Month (BAL) rather than Actual Month (BAL) in the FINQUERY Balances folder. This ensures that the balance amount will be properly aggregated based on the dimension objects selected in your query. Create your own variable to sum the measure within the table (you'll need to do this in all tables in the report, though). Within the Format Table box under General, check the box "Avoid duplicate rows aggregation". Note that this feature only exists for tables, and not crosstabs.

Business Objects Web Intelligence MULTIVALUE error in Crosstab robert.p.belforti asked Jul 15, 2010 | Replies (5) Hello I'm new to BO Web Intelligence. I have a file where I inserted a crosstab and would like to see "Ontime Offers" by years. I get a MULTIVALUE error. I have four fields from which I try to make it work: (1) Count Offers; Type: Number; =Count([Offer Id]) (2) Days Between; Type: Number; =DaysBetween([Expected/Contracted Delivery Date];[Planned/Actual Delivery Date]) (3) Ontime Offer Count;Type: Number; =If([Days Between] <= 0) Then [Count Offers] Else 0 (4) Ontime Offer Percentage; Type: Number; =[Ontime Offer Count]/[Count Offers] I then create a crosstab where I put CalendarYear on the side and Count Offer, Ontime Offer Count and Ontime Offer Percentage into the middle, but I get MULTIVALUE errors for Ontime Offer Count and Ontime Offer Percentage. Any idea how to fix the problem? Also is this the best Business Objects tool to
@ 6:28 pm One of the hardest concepts to explain when introducing new folks to Business Objects is context. I now imagine blog readers who have been working with the tools for a while have started nodding their heads in agreement, only to stop and say, "Hey, wait a second, is Dave talking about universe contexts or report calculation contexts?" And the answer is, of course, yes. Both concepts can be quite complicated and take a while to fully understand. Since I have already written a number of blog posts about universe contexts I thought it was time to turn my attention to the report technique of calculation contexts. Note that this concept is used in Desktop Intelligence and Web Intelligence but not in Crystal. This post is intended to be an overview only. I have plans for a detailed post on each of the various context operators where I will go into much more depth. For this post my goal is to introduce the concept and provide some basic definitions. Introducing Calculation Context The default calculation context is defined by the dimensions that participate in a report block. It is this feature that makes the dynamic nature of measures possible. When dimensions are removed from or added to a block the context changes and the measure amounts also change. This is controlled by the projection function set on each measure by the universe designer. However, a report writer sometimes wants a measure to be fixed at a particular value. Percentages are a really simple example. To calculate a contribution percentage I need to divide each individual value by the overall grand total. In order to do that, I need to know how to generate the grand total anywhere I want it. In order to do that, I need to understand how to use the various calculation context operators. Context Operators There is a simple (but powerful) set of context operators tha
