There is a report named supposed “abc”, it’s a webi report. When I used to scheduled this report, schedule fails with a error message “Transport error: Communication failure.” I am able to modify and refresh the report. But when I schedule this report it fails after 23 minutes. Manually refreshing the report takes around 30-35 minutes. I am experiencing this problem with only 2-3 reports. The report has two queries in it with different universes. The Connection Server session timeout is also set for 60 minutes. Could anyone please suggest what to do. Thanks in advance. The default timeout is 20 minutes. The Connection Server does not ocme into play for Webi reports, the Webi Report Server has connection server functionality built into it. You need to add the parameter -requesttimeout

Our Business Objects XI R2 enterprise is installed on a Windows 2003 server. Our workstations are Windows XP Pro. After installing and configuring our environment, we were not able to login using the Crystal Reports XI R2 designer application. We tried every combination (computer name, IP address, with or without :6400) to no avail. Each time we would get the following error: Transport Error Communication Failure It was determined that the reason we had this issue was because our server has 2 NIC cards. To resolve this issue, we went into the Central Configuration Manager. We modified the following 3 services: Central Management Server ; Input File Repository Server ; Output File Repository Server. First we stopped each service so we could edit the Command Field in the properties view. When you cursor into the command field and hit your end key, you will see by default that the command line ends with u2013name computername.cms u2013restart We edited this line to add the IP add
Communication failure. Environment BO XI R 3.1 SP 4 On logging on Desktop Intelligence, the following error occurs: SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Transport error: Communication failure.(FWM 00001) Cause The client could http://businessobjectsbi4.blogspot.com/2013/01/fwm-00001-transport-error-communication.html not talk to the Server. This is the main reason. 1)SYSTEM:6400(J2EE) means you http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3243617/business-object-xi-3-0-error are using 3 tier Desktop Intelligence which happens through web works fine as there is no firewall in between. 2)SYSTEM:6400 is 2 tier login and your firewall is blocking the connection. The first one is a key that gets created when you modify or create a new Desktop Intelligence document from Infoview, that is 3-tier. business objects The second one is you entering manually the information for 2-tier. Others Possiblecauses of the problem are: The server may be down. There may have been a network communication problem. The request my have timed out. Could be also a database connectivity issue between the CMS server and the Repository database. In order to check this issue: double click your Server Intelligence Agent in the Central Configuration Manager to business objects xi open the SIA properties and view the Configuration tab. Check to be sure that the data sources you created contain the correct credentials and that communication exists between your server and the database. Action Verify that the server is up, that networkcommunication is working correctly, and check if a request time out has beenset. If one has been set, lengthen the amount of time before the request timesout. Alsocheck the Firewall of windows and antivirus. If the server BO is multi-homed, the right solution could beto add an entry in the SERVERS HOST file under your pc path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc In other cases theissue eas due to permissions. The permission was not set to the Universe connection. In this cases try using the CMC to check the permissions to the Universe, the Universe Connection, and also check the permissions set for the DB you are using.
