I had this about a year ago on a different computer, and dcom error 10005 got rid of it, but don't remember how. I have searched several forums, also Event.id and MS support. Can anyone help? Thanks. My DCOM error is specific: It says: ......attempting to start the service netman...... As I said, I don't have netman. I did find a NETMAN.DLL in System 32, and just for kicks renamed it, but it was recreated at the next boot, so I guess it's required. BTW, this error shows in the Event Viewer 3 consecutive times, and it only occurs at boot-up. I would have thought disabling DCOM in the registry would have stopped it. That's a fix from MS, but then, quite a bit of MS stuff doesn't wo

I've had a simliar problem (which I'm about to explain) in the past which seemed to just start happening for no apparent reason - but this time it's even worse! I'm running win2k with service pack 2.
