the DCOM component "HP Port Resolver". I was getting this error on a Windows 2003 print server. A sample of this event error is included below: Event Type: Error Event Source: DCOM Event Category: None Event ID: 10015 Date: 10/27/2008 https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc774259(v=ws.10).aspx Time: 11:53:00 AM User: (username here) Computer: (server name) Description: The machine wide limit settings do not grant Remote Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {5A5AA0AA-1DEB-4683-96B0-B43301E83971} to the user (username) SID (user-sid). This security permission can be modified using http://www.paulscomputerservice.net/articles/article.php?ID=46 the Component Services administrative tool. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. I believe that the "HP Port Resolver" is unnecessary. I fixed this problem by running this command from a command prompt: regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\System32\HpBpro.dll Then remove the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{5A5AA0AA-1DEB-4683-96B0-B43301E83971} Basically removing this DCOM component from the system. Remove the "/u" from the command if you want to reverse this process. Keywords: 10015 dcom event id error in event logs windows 2000 2003 Did my website help you out?
