But I am getting the below error messagesBooting command-listroot(hd0,0)Filesystem type is ext2fs partition type 0x83Kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18.custom_1.3 esxi 6 fatal error 15 (not found) ro root=/dev/sda2 [Linux-bzImage, setup=0x1e000 size=ox18b702)Initrd /Initrd-2.6.18.custom_1.3.imgError 15: FIle not foundPress any key to continue...I entered grub mode and looking for the file "Initrd-2.6.18.custom_1.3.img", it does not exists. Why Initrd file is missing even though installation is success.?Moreover grub.conf generated by Vmware player is wrong. Why vmware player is not properly copying initrd image and also grub.conf? Its working fine with normal distro ISO, but there is a problem for my customized ISO. My customized ISO is working fine in Host PC.Please share your views on this. 421Views Tags: none (add) error15;installation;initrdContent tagged with error15;installation;initrd This content has been marked as final. Initird does not exists WoodyZ May 30, 2013 10:24 AM (in response to saran_1987) When creating the Virtual Machine for the customized ISO Image as you walked through the New Virtual Machine Wizard did you select "Installed disc image file (iso):" or "I will install the operating system later."? If the former try the latter, especially if when using the former it recognized the Distro and performed an Easy Install. Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 2. Re: Error 15: File not found. X works with others but I just can't find another distro that is so.... GOOD as arch. Anyway, I have had arch 0.7 installed before. No problems with installation over ftp or booting into my new system. But this time round I thought I'd give https://communities.vmware.com/thread/447772?start=0&tstart=0 arch0.7.1pre a try. The installation works fine but when I try booting into my system start to get some problems. To start off with chainloader +1 falls out of my grub config. I can edit grub during boot to get it to work, so no larger problem... I have hade a loog att my menu.lst file from windows https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=16692 and can see chainloader but it doesn't turn up during boot. WIERD.And now the major problem. I can't boot into linux. I get this code when trying:root (hd0,2) Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83 kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/hda3 ro vga=773 devfs=nomount [Linux-bzImage, setup=0x1c00, size=0x2b3435] initrd /boot/initrd.img Error 15: file not foundI have hade a look for the initrd.img through windows and cannot see it in /boot. I don't have a seperate partition for /boot. : hda1 windows hda2 linux swap hda3 / hda4 /home. I have hda1 boot flagged but not /. Could this be the problem?I use grub and it is installed to the MBR.Linuxkernel=2.6.13.4-3 (default install kernel)Any help would be great!PS. I have searched through the forums and found some info on initrd but nothing that helps me unfortunately.
