settings for a long long time. A month ago, I suddenly started to get this Error error 623 windows 8 Message: "Error 623 The System Could Not Find the Phone Book Entry for this Connection" when opening websites. It is really annoying, it error 623 windows 10 comes up 20 times in a row and I have to click "ok" to get rid of the notice box all the time. But if did it finally, the webpage does load all right. Been waiting for it to vanish http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-networking/error-623-system-could-not-find-the-phone-book/7bf5faa1-c76d-47e4-a4d5-d61d8d7e74fc as it started, but it doesn't. Have googled this, but all advice focusses on a different Windows version (98 / 00) and dial-up, neither of which I use. Any help?? Thanks! Posted August 9th, 2005, 2:23 pm I have been using (and enjoying) Firefox for quite a while with no problems. For the last http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=303680 several weeks however, when I navigate from one page to the next, I am bombarded with the Windows error message “Error 623" – navigating to “bostonworks.boston.com” always gets the error(s). Navigating http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forum/helproom-1/outlook-error-error-623-system-could-not-find-phone-book-entry-4083607/ to the same pages with IE works as expected. This recent flood of error messages makes it impossible to use Firefox. Microsoft help tells me this problem is VPN related. I am error 623 running “Windows XP Professional” and connecting to the internet through a Bellsouth DCL line. Is anyone else seeing this problem? eleanor Posts: 1167Joined: March 5th, 2005, 6:55 pmLocation: California Posted August 9th, 2005, 3:13 pm Haven't seen any single definitive answer to this. I went through it myself, and I really don't know what finally fixed the problem. It's NOT necessarily a VPN the system could issue. It gives me a better feel for the problem but nothing suggested in the links you posted gets rid of the error message. AI'm still muddling slong with the error messages popping up all over the plasce. It gives me the feeling thast someone over in Microsoft is having themselves a good chuckle. kenace0 Posts: 482Joined: August 14th, 2005, 9:04 amLocation: new mexico u.s.a. Microsoft seems to tie this problem to as VPN but I'm not using VPNs and others suggest it has nothing at all to do with VPNs (at least as it applies to this repetetive Error 623 when navigating). kenace0 Posts: 482Joined: August 14th, 2005, 9:04 amLocation: new mexico u.s.a. However, whilst opening one of my email addresses at work today via Talk Talk webmail, having had weeks of prompting me to change my password I stupidly decided I would. I can still access my emails via the Talk Talk page, but this is is not ideal as I like to save them and perhaps forward
