It appears to be a problem if a resource cannot be found (for example the above url does not point anywhere). This has been a bug since 1.1a, AFAIK Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type in an unknown url. Actual Results: The error message is displayed two or three times before Mozilla's dialog "URL could not be found..." is displayed. Expected Results: No errors! Builds 1.0 and 1.0.1 do not have this problem. Comment 1 Matthias Versen [:Matti] 2002-12-10 08:33:13 PST What is your setting in systemcontrol/internetoptions/connections ? (translated) Do you use Dialup or LAN connection ? Comment 2 home 2002-12-11 02:17:16 PST Using a LAN as default, but set to dial a connection if not on the LAN (Laptop). The "dial whenever a network connection is not present" is checked. Comment 3 Frank Pecher 2003-03-18 02:06:51 PST Yesterday I got the very same error when trying to subscribe to newsgroups on the servers news.mozilla.org and www.eclipse.org. Today, www.eclipse.org works without errors, and I can even download newsgoups from news.mozilla.org - after a single popup of the error 623, however. I know it's not much use report

Posted by: 1234 Date: November 22, 2011 03:21AM Hello, I am on Win XP SP3, and have been using K-Meleon 1.5.4 for about a year. I connect to the internet via a LAN-network-cable. http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?3,120265 (direct internet connection) I have no VPN installed and haven't done anything http://www.helpinfo.com/index.jsp?k2dockey=1021025353305645807&formwassubmitted=true to the old dial-up connection settings for a long long time. A month ago, I suddenly started to get this Error Message: "Error 623 The System Could Not Find the Phone Book Entry for this Connection" when opening websites. It is really annoying, it comes up 20 times in error 623 a row and I have to click "ok" to get rid of the notice box all the time. But if did it finally, the webpage does load all right. Been waiting for it to vanish as it started, but it doesn't. Have googled this, but all advice focusses on a different Windows version (98 / 00) and dial-up, neither of which I the system could use. Any help?? Thanks! Options:Reply•Quote Re: Error 623: The system could not find the phone book.. Posted by: 1234 Date: February 02, 2012 10:31PM Any hints? Still get that, no matter if I use WLAN, UMTS or LAN cable. All internet solutions seem to apply to Win 2000, but I am on XP. Cheers!
