My friend is having problems connecting to servers and the error message he gets is about missing maps. He's read about this on the forums before and everyone claimed this problem has been http://steamcommunity.com/app/320/discussions/0/43099721360551306/ fixed but obviously it hasn't, for him at least. < > Showing 1-5 of 5 comments Keefy View Profile View Posts 16 Jul, 2014 @ 8:12pm There are download filters in the options check it set to anything other than "Do not allow any custom files" Last edited by Keefy; 16 Jul, 2014 @ 8:13pm #1 Denny's View Profile View Posts 17 Jul, 2014 @ 3:56pm Originally posted by S-UK keefy:There are download filters in the options check it set to anything other than "Do not allow any custom files" Thanks #2 BlackRainbow View Profile View Posts 20 Jul, 2014 @ 11:56am Just in case you get this message even when YOU are hosting and your friend doesn't have the map you selected, it's probably because the map is bigger than 16mb, which is the default size limit. You can unlock it by writing this in the console: "net_maxfilesize 100". This will allow you to send him maps up to 100 megs. But then again it's slow as hell and you might want to consider hosting it on a website or send him the file via FTP or some other means. #3 TryHarderHero View Profile View Posts 10 Jun, 2015 @ 1:53pm Good Info! I don't know too many people who have crashed all the way to desktop but I do know there's been quite a few "client timed out" errors lately. Not sure what's causing that. Anyway, did you try verifying your game cache files (can't remember exactly what it's called)? Are all your files up to date? I would start there and see what happens. dbanimal View Public Profile Search User Find More Posts by dbanimal F
