Na-publish noong Dis 7, 2013this occured when trying to swap my 1 terabyte to a 128gb SSD onto my hp envy m4 1115dxi. resolved this issue by first using the original hard drive, going into start menu (esc), choosing bios menu, and under boot option, enable "legacy support" and on bottom, use the f6 to move up internal cd/dvd rom as the 1st on list. put in your SSD, with windows 7/8 CD, and now it will boot off of the cd rom!here is link to manual of how to get to the hard drive and open it:http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/... I say "yet old" because the hard drive was manufactured in 2008. But it was still factory sealed. I just opened it. This new hard drive is a Seagate. SATA. 3.5" Barracuda. 1TB. 32MB cache. 7200 RPG. All the exact same as the original hard drive that my computer came with when I first bought it. I was told that this hard drive would still work, and that I just had to do a couple things differently in order for my computer to acknowledge it. My computer is a Windows 7. Every time I turn it on, it goes to a black screen with a bunch of random information about patents, and a blinking cursor following the words "Error: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed". When I start up while holding the F2 button, it goes the System Diagnostics screen. This is some of what it says.... Product: p7-1108p Testing: CPU CPU Test - Passed Hard Drive Connection Test - Passed Boot Test - Failed Error Code 3F0 Memory Test - Passed So apparently the hard drive is connected properly. But why isn't it booting? Why can't my computer recognize it? Update: @Chris Ancor,

Obviously the computer recognizes the HDD or how else would it know how much memory the drives have.Reboot and go into BIOS to attempt to diagnose, only to find that the hard disk in the first in the boot sequince followed by dvd drive, then usb floppy. The information section of BIOS states that WIN 7 in the OS installed on the computer. so I run a Hard Disk Check. it says "Hard Disk Not Exist"besides the terrible grammer, I check the hard disk and it is there so i took it out and re seated it a few times hoping trial and error would prevail, and the BIOS is certain that "Hard Disk Not Exist" and gives error code 3F0. I searched 3F0 on the web and found that hundreds of HP customers are angry yet some have resolution that either cannot function in my issue or I tried the "FIX" to no avail. I need help at this point, I believe my issue may be that the hard drive needs to be wiped clean and start over, but I cannot get the boot up disk to go anywhere past a blue screen with a little bird and it says setup is starting, I let it do its thing for about 2 hours and decide its not happening and retry for the same result.I have no idea what other information you may need but please let me knowalso, I saw one fix to format the disk as followsBootrec.exebcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backupc:cd bootattrib bcd -s -h -
