So I decided to reboot it by holding the Power Button in for 10 sec. Now my Server wouldn't start, http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/error-auto-sensing-primary-hard-disk-drive-0/76e1e6d8-b741-42da-ad09-74ba1b8759b6 but displays the message: Error Auto-Sensing Primary Hard Disk Drive0 I've tried checking the cables and reapplied the Disk detect to Auto in the Bios, but no luck. I am using a Dell Dimension 8200 (with the latest Bios version) with 2 brand new Digital Western 500 GB disks. I was wondering if I can switch the 2 disks and put Disk 0 in Disk 1 's https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c9365bcd-92cb-4bbc-979f-0ac89b3f4f1c/error-autosensing-primary-hard-disk-drive0?forum=whshardware place? Are these disks mirrored with each other and will this work? Does anyone have a good solution as I don't want to loose all my Data? Are any Disk tools to save my disk? Even if reinstallation goes awry, the files themselves will be safe. If you don't get that option (all you see is the option for "new installation") you will need to take additional steps. This could happen if you need special drivers for some or all of your secondary disks. If WHS doesn't see all of them during setup, it doesn't give you the option of reinstalling. It also doesn't give you that option in a couple of other (obscure and unlikely) situations having to do with old beta versions of WHS.If you need drivers for one or more secondary disks and you've supplied them during the graphical portion of s

I did use my Dell ID tag to obtain the proper download for my system. The next time I powered up my hard disk drive computer, I recevied the error message: Error auto-sensing secondary master hard disk drive. Sometimes it would not boot and other times it would boot and load Windows. I wrote to a Dell tech and he told me to reseat my memory. I have also removed and reinstalled the battery and removed all cables with the exception of the keyboard and monitor. It continued to repeat the above error message and would not load. Yesterday I powered it up to copy the error message for you and to my surprise it booted and loaded Windows. I had no problem with any of the operations of Windows. Now that I have shut it down, when I power it up it is repeating the error message and will not load Windows. I have lights 1,2 and 3 lit on the front panel of the computer with one beep prior to the error message. hard drive found in bios Tags: Boot Hard Drives Laptops Last response: March 2, 2010 2:19 AM in Laptop Tech Support Share wb7sdxgary March 2, 2010 1:50:02 AM I am trying to fix my friends Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop. It starts to boot buts doesn't get to the Windows screen. It just starts with the Dell logo screen and then says "error auto-sensing internal hard disk drive". I go into the bios and the hard drive is not found there either. I push the F1 key and it then says no boot device available- internal hard drive no bootable device- strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility. Let me know what you think I can do. I've taken the hard drive out and reinstalled it just to see if it was loose. It was preinstalled with the Windows XP software and the drivers so I don't have a disk for it.
