The error keeps popping up saying ‘Windows has detected hard disk error on boot a hard drive error…' The hard drive is 500GB Seagate Barracuda. Yesterday, I got all my important photos, documents and other stuff backed up to an external disk. the hard disk imminent failure. Since then I always backed up all my data on my wife's laptop and on other storages. I honestly don't care, I can reinstall everything when it will http://www.eassos.com/how-to/windows-detected-a-hard-disk-problem.php happen, but as 6 months have passed, the hard disc has been checked in the meanwhile several times with check disk and with other software, hence I start doubting of the reliability of this message. Also because this message saying that a problem has been found appears randomly in the middle of something important stating that there is a problem that only Windows 7 can detected http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/windows-message-reimminent-hard-drive-failure but all the other software programs on the market can't. The hard disk is 18 months old, in perfect health, fast, silent; and Windows 7 in spite of the fact that supposedly knows that there is a problem, it doesn't even bother to tell me which problem it is. Even if you click on the 'Don't bother me again with this stupid message' the message will prompt again. And again. And again.... ad infinitum. Does anybody know how to disable this annoying messages forever, maybe with a registry hack, please? Reports: · Posted 4 years ago Top vistamike Posts: 10945 This post has been reported. I don't think it is a good idea to disable that prompt. There are a couple of things to try just to check From the command prompt type sfc /scannow and see if that finds anything. Also Seatools Although this is from Seagate it works on most drives. Mike Reports: · Posted 4 years ago Top ElStellino Posts: 16 This post has been reported. Many thanks Mike, I tried sfc and it did something more than scanning because it seems from the log that also repaire

It runs on Windows 7. Recently he has started getting some error messages that I'm not sure are legit or not. It is only a matter of when. When it happens, the degree of sweat and tears you experience is directly related to how prepared you were for it to begin with. Backing up your data is important. I even have two computers which are set up almost identically so that if the drive on one of my machines dies, I don't lose any worktime or data. Preparation is the best medicine, but this stuff happens anyway. Warning SignsIn some cases, you start to see signs of a problem before the drive up and dies on you. Early warning signs include:Computer freezes often. When it happens, the mouse cursor is unmovable and keyboard input is ignored. Nothing works and a restart is required to recover the computer.Files Mysterious disappearing.Frequent lock-up during booting. I say "frequent" because all computers will freeze every now and then and it doesn't necessarily mean the drive is failing. You're looking for a pattern here.File access mysteriously slows to a turtle's pace. Saving files or open files simply takes forever. These are typical warning signs of a pending drive failure. When you start to see a noticeable increase in these patterns, backing up your data needs to take top priority. Otherwise you really are playing Russian roulette with your hard drive.Signs of Real FailureWhen the drive actually fails, it is a mechanical failure. Many times you will actually hear the drive making strange metallic noises. This is the read/write head thrashing around aimlessly and indicates failure. When your system has a crashed hard drive, it will not be able to boot. You may even get a blue screen of death.Hard drive failure is a black and white thing. If the drive is working at all, you have a drive which is about to fail and is exhibiting the above warning signs in varying degrees. Once actual failure occurs, it just doesn't work.DiagnosticsThe first thing to do i
